Thanks ..no worries, you are more than welcome to come join us for a Sunday rideout. Everyone rides at their own pace ... some like to blast ahead through the twisties others prefer to take things easier and enjoy the scenery ...some do a mix of both. Sometimes I am out front, other times I am bringing up the rear. We agree a route in advance and stop to regroup at main junctions so no one gets lost. We also arrange in advance where we are going for food/rest breaks. A typical day will involve 200/250 miles with plenty of breaks ..although we have done up to 400 miles on occasions. The group includes folk with 30 yrs riding experience and some who have only been riding a year. Great ride report & beauituful countryside! It's very cool to see a ride which looks so much like the 'sorties' I've been running for many years with my sportbikeing buddies, but on the other side of the pond. Thanks for sharing!

'400 mile day of twisties' is amazing ... but leaves me knackered at the end of it. Lol! ... Tired, but very happy. Thanks for the very kind offer re: the 'house-swap'... Now there's an idea! I might just take you up on that sometime. No more overseas holidays for us at the moment though whilst we fight our way out of 'recession' in the UK (we are already scheduled to do the Nurburgring later this year ..and a trip to France) ... however business is picking up at the moment so 'watch this space' . Man you make that place look inviting!
I'm also more and more impressed with your photography. Cool about the cop riding with you! One of my best ridin buddies is an officer as well. Here he is on his 'Busa and me on my Duc Thanks again for sharing, Mark H.

awesome read
Thanks for the pics. The twisty bits of road look like a lot of fun. It seems that all the police drive BMW's. Good choice.
I mentioned to my wife that Scotland looks like a great place to take the bike, and the first comment out of her mouth was the "Rain". Of course I would gladly take rain over the snow. However when the summer arrives in Canada it makes for the best three days of riding you could ever imagine |

Absolutely stunning photos - thanks for sharing!! My dad lived in Scotland for a few years in the late 60s and keeps telling me I need to go. My next overseas trip might just be Scotland with my bike :)

Great looking bikes ..as you can tell I ride with a lot of Ducati fans. They are gorgeous looking machines and amazing in the bends. Loving your friend's Busa ..I had one for 6 years ..and I loved that bike! They handle a lot better than most folk realise ..I had fun surprising quite a few R1 and gixxer pilots in the twisties on mine. Here is the one I had, together with my R1. I was fortunate to have a choice of what to ride for about 6 months.. then had to sell one because having three kids at university was becoming expensive (and I couldn't justify to my then wife the luxury of two bikes!) So with regret I sold the Busa ...only to write the R1 off two months later! (Skin grafts, three months off work and being bikeless for 6 months followed). My wife said - 'No more bikes!' ..... so I bought the gixxer without telling her ... we got divorced the following year. Lol! I am lucky now to have a new partner who loves riding and has her own gixxer.
