I have had one on mine for the last 1500 miles - I love it. Have not yet found any downside to the rekluse. People worry about having problems with them when stuck on a hill - I have a back fender strap that I grab with one hand and walk the bike up using the throttle

New ride...

Well I am not good enough for a 300 so I opted for this 2010 250xc that was the backup bike for some guy named Geoff Aaron.
Anybody heard of him?

I will try to post a few more pics and comments if I don't kill myself first.

2006 xc-w

Here is a pic of the 2006 I picked up in late October. 70 hours, Rekluse Pro, GPR, rear Tubliss, Clarke Tank. Traded it for my 05 450. It's an XC-W not an EXC (saw some comments saying 2007 was the cut off).

It has one of the Trailtech flange protectors. No clue if they work. I know a lot of people don't like to run a pipe guard as they claim they can transfer the impact force onto the engine case.

I laughed at comments #2 and #3 as at 800' on my first ride I scared the pants off myself trying to go over some large whoops on an uphill trail. Mine was jetted lean (previous owner rode it >3000' - was one clip position and 1 size main off, iirc) so I'm hoping Lilbit's post 71 is correct, as it was just crazy before. Not had a chance to get out really since and it's ski season now

WARRIORPRINCEJJ, did you make your peace with the bike at ~sea-level? Sorry about your tree encounter, I hit a vertical tree head on (literally) a couple years back and it's just not funny. I know how a bird feels now after they fly into a plate glass window.

I have the green PV installed. Welded up an adjusting tool out of some metal rod. This is an interesting thread over at TT with some dyno charts showing PV out and in.

I much prefer the looks of the newer 2008+ bikes, KTM did a good job redesigning the graphics/plastics.

Enjoy the new bike! I have it's twin... (well, an XC, not XC-W)

Might want to order a Trailtech kick-stand so you don't have to carry a rock around with you to hold it upright....

Also, certainly nothing wrong with welding up your own PV tool, but the EE/KTM tool is only about $10...

Thanks. Yeah...you're right about the bird/window thing.

In regard to the 3-honey, all I can say is...for now...I have it where I want it. I won't be riding it, for awhile, though. I'm still dealing with a few neurological "gremlins" from the crash/concussion.

I took the Super Enduro out, for about an hour, today. It wound-up being a blatant reminder that I am not ready to ride, yet...

Indeed. I have a TT on my 450 and it's almost the opposite problem, stands almost too vertical. I welded 2" into my old LC4 side stand as it was the same way, but my 950 side stand is too long. KTM and their side stands, sheesh.

Sure but you have to pull the bashplate to use the EnduroEng one. Trust me!! The one I made cost me $2 and I don't have to remove the skid plate, just put a minor notch into it. Each to his own

I picked one up off of KTM talk that allows me to adjust it without removing the plate.

right, the ones in the KTMtalk classifieds (T) are basically the same as I made. I'm not sure what Enduro Engineering were smoking when they came up with that design,

01 300

Buddy of mine found an 01 300 at a pawn shop up in the N. GA mountains and scored it for $600. He wants more of a motocross bike thats lighter and offered it to me. Havent seen it yet, but i figured for 6 bills, shit, why not?

I wanted to know from you guys if its a good woods bike, being a 300 2 stroke and all, for a novice rider? My last dirt bike was a cr250 in '98 and it was fun but a bit too much power for the woods.

Also, what should i look out for on this model?

Thanks in advance for sharing your knowledge.

Ill post an update when i see it, hopefully today!

cheers
