OK...my version and pics.

I camped with this guy. Catfish

I hooked up with this guy again. Matt

We ate.

We waited for construction controls.

We rode a big hill. The dust speaks of Jeff’s speed down this hill.

4 of us split off and Mike (on the right) showed us some of his special single track stash. Matt decided to play Paul Bunyan and chop down a tree to get by. We ripped the bushes on the left out instead.

Catfish up the hill enjoying the day as we cleared the trail.

Nice car!

Day 2’s early ride looked like this:

I tried to get a group shot here...the answer was "no"

This was the best I could do at 9k feet.

We hooked up with a few others and did an after lunch ride.

Some of the riders.
Either the camera moved from the wind or I suck at timed pics.

The obvious missing person from that pic is Dale.

Still at the top.

The evening’s festivities.

Marilyn cutting the Filet Mignon strips to order. (She’s obviously a very talented cook)

Dinner looked like this.

And our host looks a lot like this.

Thanks again.

See you all next year...if not sooner.

I did have pics

Well just so you know I made it home and was sucked into the couch and couldn't get up. Threw everything in the garage and called it good enough. Want to thank the acr's for letting me crash out in doors even though I was late in announcing that I was coming. It's good to know that Jeff and Marilyn worked together on this event. Jeff whipped the crap out of me during the day and Marilyn made made me feel better with food and booze after the ride. Thanks alot you too it was again epic! Hope to return the favor some day.

As for the pics that was Jeff's fault for taking the whooped out section instead of the perfectly good road not 10 feet to our left. Yes Jeff will say I didn't zip up the tank bag but this is my story and that part is going to be left out. Thanks Jeff for going back and helping me look for the camera and phone. Oh ya I tossed out the iphone and we found that on the whooped out section of course. Till we meet again I have to go to bed to try and recover some more.

Thanks all from Mr and MrsTahoeacr

Marilyn and I just want to thank everyone for coming to the Assualt and making it the best yet. We had a great time catching up with all the people who returned, and meeting all the noobs for their first Assualt. John, Vern, Mike and Marshall thanks for the help with tracks and the input. Everyones compliments regarding saturdays BBQ made Mrs Tahoe ACR feel it was worth all the work. The absolute manderin helped too! She loves it when people are well fed and liquored up.
Ann, the kids, Melissa and Marsha thanks pitching in, really appreciated everything you did. After we rest, we will be looking forward to seeing you all again next year. Thanks again to everyone for your help and support with the event.

Sea of Orange

It was awful tough for the old tired xr4 to keep up all those new fast orange machines. What a beautiful sight..............

Life from the SE

Jeff, thanks a ton for organizing, that was a great ride.

Back at Jeff's house we took off the clutch cover. A big rock jumped up and hit a bolt on the case and pushed it into the clutch, made a real loud vibration!

Thanks to everyone that rallied around to help me get it going, Dale was the first to spot the bolt that was crushed by the rock and then Cyborg got the idea of the re-working the clutch case and using some JB weld. Thanks, I thought I was done for the weekend. It held up nicely.

I would add more, but its too hard to make the files so small, I will just post a link later. Great ride everyone.

And again, when it was allegedly wedged between a tree 1 mile south-east of Pioneer Trl...
I knew I should have taken a picture... but I do remember lifting a certain 990....
