played cricket against some blokes from an ice cream factory once, a good side but we licked them in the end.

so how's the new job?????????

I hope you didn't admit to owning a DR - no one wants to be ostracised on their first day

Good. I thought milk was just white stuff in a bottle. I didnít realise there were so many different types. Itís a bit cool in the chillers and the days are looong (6am to 6-30pm). I hit the road just after 5 and donít get home until after 7.

The beasty DR has been running like a dream. I actually got over 300kms out of the tank without hitting reserve. Going to buy a car this weekend as Iíll be traveling in the dark both ways once daylight saving changes.

Caught on vid

Hi Bart - I checked over my GoPro video that I made coming down the Takapari road, and put eight minutes of the footage up on YouTube:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=w5PpWsTmMTA

There's a bit where I pass you just after you were picking up your bike, around the 7 minute mark. You seemed in ok shape then. Hope the hand is healing up well.

The rest of my ride report is up on AdvTrail.com.

Cheers

Jon

Nice vid. You can see the marks on the track where the bike hit. I put a new front tyre on the other day, so hopefully I won't have any more gravity attacks in the near future.

It's almost back to normal. Still a bit weak but should be alright in a week or two.

Went for a quiet ride yesterday. Stopped by Wade's for a coffee, then headed for the coast. The day wasn't the best but I didn't care. I just wanted to ride.

I love this stretch of beach.

Weird round rocks. I guess they fell out the bottom of iceburgs or something after rolling around in the bottom of ancient glaciers. Just a guess...

Looks like a giant pimple

I stopped for a snack overlooking Porangahau

As I headed inland, the weather turned to crap. You know that misty rain that fogs you visor so you can't see, but riding with it open, it's like millions of tiny knitting needles piercing your eye balls. Yeah, it was a bit like that.

I was trying out a 16 tooth front sprocket on this ride. I was well impressed on the road as the bike sat on 110kph at a comfortable idle. Much happier then before. I found on the gravel I had to be careful to down shift before the engine started lugging too much. It's not a problem, just something to watch. As for pulling through 130kph on gravel, barely above idle, what a laugh. Big grins.

I'm going to head out their at sunrise one day and get some more photos of those rocks.
