Sorry to hear about your misfortune. "It Happens" My race today wasn't that great either, messed up on the bottom of a hill about a mile into the start and my whole class went by as I was getting sorted. It was a quick course, so by the time I got going again, I was only able to make up a few positions.
But at least you didn't get hurt, and you did finish. Same here. |

I feel surprisingly not worse than I felt yesterday. I was dreading how I would feel if the first day is bad, the second day usually is twice as bad!
My left leg is a little stiff and swollen - no huge purple, bloated sack. My back is REALLY sore... I must have really tweaked it when going over and having the bike fall on me. All I can say is THANK GOD for my ballistic jersey... Im confident with the combined back protector, kidney belt etc etc that it saved my ASS.... and my back. I might not have walked away from it but instead I finished the race and near my normal pace. Thank you SIX SIX ONE! ![]() and thank you eBay for getting it to me for $70!

I have been busy this morning and am just now getting up to speed.
I have I taught you nothing? Crashing is not allowed. Were you able to hook up with the coyotes? What did you think of the whole USDR set up?

and no you never told me that about the crashing.... NOW you tell me. Had I known, I wouldnt have done it! ![]() The USDR thing was cool - I dont know if I agree with the whole pre-run thing however..... I think it encourages people to cheat.... I saw a few course-cutters and I think I got one on video. I think I also prefer the cold engine start.... I think it moves everyone around a little bit more. A manageable melee? because of the dust I think its a recipe for people to get seriously hurt. the course was fine - just like a D.37 course but there were a few spots that were downright dangerous and totally unmarked. I saw a couple guys get hurt pretty bad because of a few rocky sections that were over a rise. There was one instance where four or five guys were lying on the ground around the downhill section and massive bottleneck. I have at least one on the video. other than that and my crash - awesome. A bit warm for me.... and some snow would have been nice. a good time was had by all - hell John wasnt even winded. ![]() bastard. You were missed - we told stories about you in your absence so you couldn't defend yourself. You would have liked the course too and man, you would have KILLED it.

So when is your next District race? I'm heading out to the Vikings National this weekend, haven't decided if I'm going out Sat or Sun.

Just talked to Matt (Previous owner) about the steering stabilizer (RTT) and he wont give me a full refund for the bike becuase the steering damper is leaking after a few races.
![]() ![]() ![]() he did give me some good advice at rebuilding it and told me that when he sold me the bike, it came with a handlebar remote to control the damper on the fly!! ![]() luckily the last time my car got broken into, they took all the parts.

I never looked at your dampener that close. That thing is kinda trick. I sure whomever stole the parts is putting them to good use.
Heal up, there are plenty of races left in the year. I am going to miss Gorman, going to my kids graduation and Eagle Scout ceremony that weekend, then going to visit my dad in CO for a couple of days. I am going to make it to Vikings and Badgers before then.
