650L wow

Round 4 Sept. 24th looks like a good time to start..gots to get this fat ass back in shape May 21st is a possibility if i get some more seat time on the bike.

last few times i went out on the 650 was with a D37 enduro rider that took me on some D37 enduro loops and like an idiot i didnt have the bark busters on my bike. lost both brake and clutch levers and overheated it a few times it was a fun ride back to the truck

yeah..... when you start racing you do things you never thought you could. After one race, I could notice the difference in my riding without question. I think the biggest thing for me is it taught me that going slow usually isnt the best way to get through stuff. I cant go slow anymore - I crash! it gets to the point where you stop thinking about obstacles you used to pucker over. Then one day you'll be going slow over something and you'll crash and wonder what happened.

4200 miles..... 143 hours..... some tastey bits.... and a plate!

Initial impressions -

super solid, geared VERY low... which is perfect.... and LOTS OF POWER. I CANNOT believe how much power these things make. Its almost as if its too much but im sure after a few races Ill be used to it and eventually want more. suspension, much more firm that my 650R - which is exactly what I need. Its going to take some getting used to for sure but this thing is a rocket and hopefully is Mike is right, ill pick up 20 spots.

Sweet!

Nice! I'm looking for a bike too - I found a couple on Craig's List that I would love to have but am still working on getting a house.

Congrats on the new bike. What year is it?

2004 I believe. insane how positively civil it is! Riding to work this morning it almost felt like a scooter till you tug the gas a bit.... and unless yer in fifth gear, the front tire will be in the air.

Oooh, is that a Renazco seat I spy on there? Those are pretty nice, too. I had two of them.

The renazco is "must have" for any significant dual sporting over the stock seat. However, for racing and pure off-road riding, I preferred the stock seat. Fortunately, it's just one bolt to change it out and you can do it in less than 30 seconds.

Nice snag!

noooo way. this thing is geared really low. cruising speed is something like 55 60. I can push it way past that but its not a very comfortable streetbike.... if i took a dirtbike it would certainly be the 650R. MUCH better street manners!
