The beast joined Vårrundan in South Sweden Saturday April 16th. Despite frequent navigation errors from unmentioned, 1st time roadbook debutant rider most waypoints went OK

Luggage, you say? A nobrainer; take 1 item GiantLoop Coyote with 1 item GiantLoop Mojavi on top - and presto --> problem solved.

Stronger tail piece

I got the stronger tailpiece section for the Rally. Looks very well made as would be expected.

Cheers

What did it cost and how did you get it? Looks well made.
It appears ordering such items through "ordinary KTM dealers" is quite an ordeal. They either have noe clue or talk in mysterious ways about the secretive, independent "KTM Racing Company" that somehow appears to live its own life outside normal KTM channels.

Could somebody enlighten me about this puzzle?
Is KTM Racing a different company - not a part of the KTM street market customer base?

Sure, they have the "Racing" title and are by design directed towards the competition market. But given they have sold a finite number of EU-homologated, street-registered 690 Rally bikes --> does this mean spares and customer relations are unique, ad-hoc tailormade procedures for each 690 Rally owner?

Go to this website
and, on the left hand side under Fast order form type in these numbers one at a time and add them to your cart, pay by CC and they will turn up at your door with a week or so.

76203002100 which is 1 x HECKRAHMEN 235,35 EUR
76208019100 which is 1 x HECKSCHALE 88,40 EUR

If you PM me your email I will send you the pdf showing all the parts with part numbers.

Cheers
Pilbara

PS: and don't tell your 'ordinary KTM dealer' about this mob please. I want to keep using them....

Hey Norway,

i wonder that you have still your tail with the havy number plate with the blinkers on your bike. This was also one reason when my tail brake !!!

Throw it away at put your plate on the plastic tail and put your blinkers sideways near the exhaust.

May be you are not jumping with the bike, but also deep holes are dangereous for the tail !

What is about your idea to change the original exhausts into two Akrapovic parts ?

Michele

Tail-section will be simplified with mini-blinkers and regplate moved up as you said.

The Akra's will be ordered in June

Hey,

but where is the big advantage from the new tail ? I see, that is fixed also only with four screws at the rear tank. It is much lighter ( how much ) than the old tail ?

690rr water tanks

A question, the 2 water tanks under the rear fuel tank....are they secured to the tank by 2 bolts?.......when i got my rr the water bottles were not fitted,so when i went to fit them only one bolt lines up,the oter threaded insert in the tank is nowherenear the hole in the water tank!,seen a few photos on the net of the 690rr water tanks and it looks like only one bolt holding them in place....is this correct?

Hello Italrally, my old tail is somewhere in the West Australian outback, so I can't tell you the weight difference. I still had the piece-of-tail that is attached by the four screws at the rear tank. Actually just threw it outhaving a shed clean up...if I had to guess I would say it would be ever so slighty heavier.

Cheers

Nope. They're held in place by 2 bolts each.

You're right, Italrally - two bolts per rear water tank:

Upper right corner of picture show the needed bolts.
