Thanks for useful info, HP2. Your 2010/2011 User Manual actually differs from my 2007/2008 edition. Mine is labelled 2008 690 Rally Factory Replica.
![]() Carbdata showing both open and restricted engine data. ![]() Engine on mine is 654cc The 12.5kw figure must be the homologation/street reg restricted version with the aluminium restrictor plate on top of the air filter, restricted exhaust (as shown by inmate italrally) and throttle stop: - 160 main jet, - OBDYU jet needle - 45 idle jet. As I read my 2008-manual the open, unrestricted package has the following setup (restricted moped data shown in parenthesis): Main jet: 168 (160) Jet needle: OBDVT (OBEKR) Idling jet: 42 (45) Your mileage may of course vary, gentlemen. Thanks for the info exchange, boys. Really appreciate it. Cheers!

KTM Racing are obviously rebuilding several ex-Despres/Coma etc. rally bikes, while some of us actually get our greasy clutches on some non-raced specimens. I'd say there's a good opportunity for nice purchases through contacts in KTM Racing et al.
If there's only 200 690 Rally's built - there's OBVIOUSLY a clear and visible market still out here. Ya hear that - KTM?

Nice ride there, Gerduro ...!!!
This is the very same bike I tried to buy from Stefan for one of my customers here in Norway. I see the picture is taken in Rally building, did you already received bike / got any fresh pictures? I managed to get hold of Marc Comas ride, but this one slipped away .. ![]() There is no color code, there was several designs and get hold of any info or stickers from KTM is pure hell. I can ask KTM 2morrow, I am trying to get engine guys to build 125 SX engine for Henning Solbergs cross-kart, hope somebody there will remember at least color code.. |

Question:
Do anybody know the jets and needle settings for the Akrapovic - without the db-killers? These pots makes the carb go lean, and results in sudden stuttering and backfires. We've tried the richest needle setting and a 170 main jet without success. We're about to order new needle and jets. Edit: After nearly 6 hours "search & rescue" the culprit was found to be a defective, brand new spark plug! We reinstalled the stock 160 main jet, set the needle back to stock setting, yanked the db-killers out of the Akras - and presto; the Beast was back in business. New sound is a bit more mellow and diciplined, and torque at low and midrange is back again. My dealer had no dyno, so this is good enough for me so far. We checked the VIN # in KTM data base and this showed the engine to be 654ccm. That's more than good enough for my use.

I got some wonderful news for all of you RR owners out there, talked to folks from Rally today, and you might like to check out this two part numbers at your local dealer:
7631100300028A 7631100200028A Left and right front mask fairing from 450 RR 2012 in white color. Price is around 222 Euro / piece without VAT, availability is ETA 14/10/2010. I think this is considerable drop from previous price, and as I know KTM Rally, it could easy happen that they will run out of stock. So if you folks want second fairing (with 2012 slim look), do not hesitate for too long. ![]() Unfortunately this two parts are the only that went down, rest is the same old story. Few pictures of new fairing can be found here: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showt...581983&page=11 |

Well, the big question is of course if the new, cheaper 450RR side panels will fit the 690RR. As far as I can see there are some differences in both nav tower angles and height. I guess some mods will have to be done to slap 450RR side panels on our 690RR's. . Would be nice if these parts were interchangeable, though.
