That was crazy that we ran into you guys there.

Our New Years Day was pretty uneventful... we were definitley on a different time schedule than you- the Trooper isn't happy going much more than 70mph pulling that load. And hills are slower. That's why we planned to take the southern route- fewer high elevation hills for the poor old Trooper. We spent that night in Benson AZ, and the next day was pretty mellow to Burt's house in Yuma...

I know that Casita means little house but I wanted to make sure everyone else knew that it was the little house.

I was wondering why I felt all warm and fuzzy for a couple of weeks. Here, I was under Ned the entire time! I hope Geek didn't notice.

You guys are awesome, and I can't wait to read the rest of the report.

Now, chop chop! Get to work.

We set our alarms for 6am, we were all so excited to cross the border. Breakfast americano was first on the agenda. We stopped at BK and proceeded to get 3rd degree burns from the scalding hot coffee.

Then it was off to find a storage yard for Ben and Charla's truck. Our second rate spanish lead us to believe that they didn't open for another hour, so we got them unloaded and myself, cvestal, and HomerJ headed for the border in the van.

We had a rough plan to meet Ben and Charla on the Malecon in San Felipe sometime later in the day. We had to get to SF and find somewhere to store the van.

We ended up at Pete's Camp in SF, rented a palapa, and made arrangements to store the van for the next 2 weeks.

cvestal could not resist the call of the beach. We barely got the bikes unloaded and he was off.

After playing around for a few minutes, it was time to jump back in the van and get to the Malecon to meet Ben and Charla. Our van in the sand with all the bikes was no problemo, unloaded was a different story.

Chris was beside himself, he was convinced that we would miss Ben and Charla and they would keep going to Gonzaga Bay. We really wanted them to camp in SF with us for our first night in Baja.

It didn't take us too long to get the van unstuck, with the help of a couple friendly gringos. Jack decided to stay behind to get his 950 loaded, and Chris and I headed to town hoping to catch up with Ben and Charla.

After a little head explody session with the storage dilemma, Charla and I were off to San Felipe.

I absolutely LOVE Mexican traffic, as the drivers pay way more attention.

A short 120 mile blast across Laguna Salada brought us into S.F. and we met Chris and Kelly.

We got some survival supplies, and headed to Petes Camp.
