The Bushings are NOT made out of Hard Enough Material. They are too
soft, causing loose motion. The updated KTM Urethane bushings a just a
Little better, but still too soft

Both models share the same bolt, just under the seat basiclly there are four bolt the hold the whole rear of the bike together, i have improved the upper ones,

its cheap insurance I broke one on a ride no luggage just fangin around by the time got home the other bolt was bent ready to break.

Can't believe I never saw these before! Great job Mudguts - do you have any left?

To answer the question of the earlier poster as to whether these are necessary I don't know any 690 owners who have NOT at least had lower bushing problems and most have broken an upper tank bolt.

Ktm 690 Upper Tank Bolt & Lower Bushings

I put 10,000 km on my 09 & haven't experienced any of these problems.
I ride mostly standing up & haven't put weight on the back other than the
KTM rack (for aluminum paniers) with Dirt Bags.

The only thing that concerns me is that if the upper bolts & the lower bushings are made stronger, that means that more stress goes on the tank's plastic.

I can only but wonder if KTM did this on purpose so as to not damage the tank. It's cheaper replacing bolts & bushings than it is to replace a tank.

Having said all this, I am interested in getting a set of spare upper bolts.
