oddly, it will cost me more to go to traffic school than to pay it.

Bad cops, bad cops....

i make it a rule never mess with the DS riders . But some of them troopers and city cops just out for blood $$. (when they grow up, they will see there is no need in all that)

You know, we ought to get a break or a discount (reduce a few mph's???? ) for wearing safety gear when we get pulled over.

How many riders do you see wearing T-Shirts, sandals and a piss pot for a helmet? Not to mention the honey on the back flashing her tramp stamp donning the same apparel?
And don't get me started on the crotch-rocket kids riding wheelies or topping 100mph zipping between cars on the interstate....again with a honey on the back....I mean at least I'm suited for a crash, I've had training and added safety equipment to my bike rather than an extended swingarm!!!!........AND WHAT ABOUT THOSE DAMNED...!!!!!!!!

Things I learned today-
  1. My Vstrom in its current configuration does not like gravel roads with ruts.
  2. My Vstrom has a weird case of motorcycle narcolepsy.
  3. It is possible to laugh while you are falling over on a motorcycle.
  4. My 6 point bungee cord works great for securely holding my laptop bag to my bike.
  5. Crash bars, um work.
  6. Givi side cases secretly want to be crash bars when they grow up.
  7. My Vstrom is heavy on loose gravel/sand
  8. I think I found the road... I think.

OH MY GOSH.....I Sure hope that didn't happen to you on the way to the tag ????
I will feel absolutely terrible ! ! If it did let me know and I can change the tag!!
Let me know....I'm going crazy!!
I surely think (thought) a street bike could get back there no problems. I see kids back there in cars. That is if they come at it from the @ $ # % * & % #

LOL...you got it just right man ! thats so damn true. my problem is i hate loud pipes. but most of them cops and such ride a HD with loud pipes, and when i get on them about that they cry like little girls. i tell them so its ok to have a loud HD but its bad to have a dirty dirt bike with lights on it?

Yea alot of them dont like to chat with me about the bikes (cop friends) i tell them how it is when it comes to that. The DS riders are the most respectful and safe riders on the road as i see it, and they dont have the ass of there chaps cut out, or a bad attitude at a redlight, or a fat chick on the back showing ass crack. Hell they have done got to were they wont even wave anymore...at least the sport bike kids wave when they fly by.

Yea i have a ugly ass bike and turn heads when i go into town. but at every stop i make in town someone always comes over and tells me they wish they could get out and ride in nature, and enjoy them old back roads.

Fly by me on a DS... i will only wave I will never pull over a Ds rider.

Seriously- I think I found the road. I may have simply found an impassable rutted out road! :)

It was actually pretty dang funny. No paint was lost in the pursuit of this tag... flat black does not count- I'll just paint over that!

Whew...glad to hear you and the bike are ok.

Guilty conscious has me wanting to leave these last clues:
Attack from the overlook, there is nothing that gives it away, you'll tell yourself "I wonder if it's down there? It looks like a street bike can get in there."
You'll see old "private property" signs.....it is a recorded county road....don't worry.
Street bikes go slow...I mean like 5 mph slow....keep feet close to ground
When you get to the red gate, take pic and turn around.
True dual purpose bikes can continue on past gate.....but GO SLOW.

This is a fun tag.....you'll enjoy getting back there and finding it.

Don't worry.....my next one will be even more diabolical .... heh heh heh :)

EDIT....I see I have broken rule 7. Sorry about that. I'll learn to be more patient and let the game be played.

No you didn't. You're the original poster of the tag. You can leave clues whenever you want. That rule is for anyone else that may know where a tag is. Only the owner of the tag can provide clues. You're good to go.

BAM!

Bagged my first one. I attempted to come down from the overlook, but two Williamson County Sherrif deputies were blocking the entrance. I would be willing to bet Mr. Breeze paid them to wait there until he could swing by and nab the tag. I rode around to the lower entrance and came up from the bottom. I gots me no gps so I will have to Google Earth the coordinates in a bit.

AH HA !

I should have figured YOU of all people could/would get this one. Good deal! I hope you had fun getting back up in there

Heck, I'm guessing YOU'VE been up there before?

When I first saw the photo I thought it was Rob Feature that got it.....I forgot you've got a Dakar too...

I never even knew that road was there! That was a great challenge to figure out and to get to, but I did manage to get my "touring bike" up there.

Here's my gps substitute:

Since the tag has been captured I can now admit I went the opposite way towards the tag from Sawyer Rd. Not a good idea, but that was alluded to by ihatefalling.

I was --- that --- close!

I bet my "oops" tracks are still there for those that want to go look.

Good deal.....Congrats on your first tag! Glad to see a couple of guys going for it. Sorry you didn't make it CS....you truly were "that close".
Next time you're in the 'hood make sure you ride that gravely road from the overlook down to Sawyer. It's a fun little diversion. Of course if you're more of a MAN you can ride from Sawyer up to the overlook I don't get to go too far on my bike so if I get to do another tag it'll probably be in the same general area.
