Us Cat Herders of the Shenandoah Valley use a 'cache' token left at the tag spot. Makes knowing if you are bruced real easy and saves the mad rush to find a computer to post up. Military style coins, any flat metalwork that can be hidden or in our case, Happy Meal Toys, lend validity when the Sheriff or Shotgun toting resident on his ATV stops to ask what you are doing..."Just lift up that rock sir and see if there is something under there" - Ah the look on their faces Also allows for gifts such as beers, baked goods or homemade jams to be left as a gift. Just how we do in the valley - have fun with your fledgling game!

Oh, also helps to have a Google Map keeper of previous tagged spots. PM me if you want any instructions or tag mapping ideas. Our Map

Sounds fun, but much more of a pain in the ass...to me anyway. I'd rather just snap a pic and move on. If someone posts it before me, so be it. Not that big of a deal.

Same here. It ain't gonna hurt my feelings if somebody wants to take that on, but I figured with the area we're covering, finding some of these could be hard enough .

The first one ain't that hard though. I tagged it again today, but obviously haven't learned that taking and retaining pictures with my phone's camera requires a number of steps. And my bike cam went tits up today.

Was a great day for a ride though...hope some of ya got to enjoy it.

This is great. Rob, thanks for stepping up and starting this. Just to clarify though...

Are we using all of the counties in Mid Tenn?

Not sure where the boundary line for the Cumberland Plateau officially is.

Middle Tenn

I was guessing you'd probably know it if you're on the Plateau as you'd be noticeably higher in elevation. This is a little unfortunate, as there are sooooooooo many good riding areas up and down the Plateau, but gotta draw the line somewhere, right? I think those counties more or less sum it up. But I don't think they evenly divide the Plateau from the valley. The Plateau is quite visible. How 'bout say once you start climbing up to it, you're out of bounds. This will make a nice visual cue to anyone without having to try and find county lines.

Well, by bike cam, I mean I have a dedicated camera that I take on rides and such...a Canon SD600 tethered to the bike. But it's had a hard life. It's 4 years old and has been to 3 countries (with lots of time by the ocean), so it's well-worn. And yesterday, the lens just kept crawling back in its little hole...sick and dying or retired. I've also managed to kill a Nikon D70 from moto miles. So unless I'm on a trip somewhere cool, my DSLR rigs stay home.

And thanks for the flickr offer, but I'm a smuggie

Isn't that one of Madonna's bra designs from the early 90'S?

Good job. You're in the record books as first.

Hows about giving a description/location of the captured tag.

Nevermind...took 3 seconds to Google it.
