Interesting to look at the new KTM. Some nice innovation in the nav tower, some nice evolution in the tanks, etc.

I wonder what transmission the rally has in it- the 5 speed semi-close in the XCF/ SXF, or the 6 speed from the XCW/ EXC? I hope they make a 6 speed semi-close that we can buy...

Someone commented on linkage- KTM rally bikes have been linkage since forever, PDS can't cope with the big weight of full fuel loads IMO...

TMs have always made awesome power, I bet the rally bike rips.

Ahh, I love rally bike porn season.

Well, how about the 950SE, the 9x0Adv ( both in the range of 220kg fully fuelled) and the Rally950 (240Kgs ? when fully fuelled) ? Did you feel that the TDBR 950SE's PDS shock did'nt cut it (in terms of handling the weight) ?

The pre-prototype of this bike ran at Merzouga Rallye last year (2012).

To gain a competitive edge on the competition... of course!

Can you imagine the "eletrical problems" that HRC will encounter if the go down this route...?

Helder will probably end up leaving the "nuetralization" zone only "half charged".

Then they would surely call it a "mechanical" problem.

The co. i work for is also in the business of setting up rapid charging systems/points for EVs. Maybe HRC will contract it out to us to setup a grid all over the desert ??

The current 5speed can be made into a 6speed. It requires splitting the cases.

If they supplied batteries at each of the fueling stops at a rally, then I guess fair is fair, but I don't see that happening for quite awhile. Battery and motor tech still needs to get a lot better, but there are amazing new technologies on the horizon... if will be interesting for sure.

I wonder if people don't get to hear the roar and scream of the engines in a race, will they lose interest? Will they have to play a soundtrack from a following helicopter for the front runners, to keep it interesting?
