I'm more than a little curious to see how El Matador gets on with Mr. Dakar. Team orders and fireworks ensue!!

Peterhansel is the third driver to sign with Peugot.

For his return to the Dakar in 2015, the team Peugeot unveiled Wednesday the names of his three drivers who will officiate in South America in January. A promising team with the Spaniard Carlos Sainz and French Stephane Peterhansel , both winners of the Dakar in the past, but also the multiple winner of the race motorcycle Cyril Despres who therefore try on four wheels, as announced by Auto Weekly .
Ok, no surprises there then, bike record safe for a while

It's been a long time since Cyril was the rookie - KTM v HRC and Mini v Peugeot - it's going to be a long 9 months

You don't acquire "alien" status just because one checks out... you earn it by lopping off it's head...

Think - "predator vs alien"... not "hermit crab moves into vacated shell"...

But for sure Sundersam is the great white (limey) hope for the forseeable future!

I think the office boys are still crouched down in the corner of the shower cubicle, cold water on, scrubbing themselves down with brillo pads and Red Bull, sobbing to themselves;
"I feel so... used..."

IIRC he's done some SxS racing in recent years (off season from the moto stuff), there were some references on his fb and website a few moths back before the dakar. I don't think he'll have a problem with it really, so many other top line riders have made the transition from bikes to rally raid cars... no worries. If it was WRC or WTCC or something, maybe a bigger transition... but to cross country rally... I think he will take to it like a duck to water.

Pretty sure you'll find its a mix of both.
If you have 10 Coma and Despres there is no Alien status.

It took CDP what, 3-4 Dakars to score the first win? And all under the mentor Fabrizio Meoni.
So Sam has time to learn till 2016/17

No, each year the organizers give a catchy marketing name for that edition. Odyssey, Adventure, Ultimate, etc

Was nice to ride my Yamaha rally bike on the Champs Elysée beside the Peugeot 205 T16.
Thanks to Yamaha and all the staff for the year we spend together.
I will folow the Blue Team, and try to give my racing experience to help the young rider.
Have a good season...
