From my understanding; it was never the case that HRC's CRF Rally or the KTM 450 RR would be production models in the "available from the showroom floor" sense of the term.

Both the Honda and the KTM rally are (intended?) as limited production runs, available largely - by pre-order - with the respective factories, for privateer rally competitors who want one (or several). Maybe that's the concept GasGas has for theirs also...? it's just that I spotted it on the website, and thought... hmmm... that seem pretty accessable.

Probably still a long way from the situation of being able to walk into the dealership, and see a 450 rally replica sitting on the floor, waiting for man off the street to pull out the wallet.

They have to leave something up to the owner to choose from...

About the Dakar Gas Gas, one was actually stolen in Italy some weeks ago
http://www.moto.it/news/mi-hanno-rub...rova-moto.html

I think (not 100% sure) it was the Laia Sanz bike of her previous Dakar, and Matteo Casuccio bought it to try too book for the next Dakar

Not an easy bike to sell around even in the "alternative" market, so anyone should have a rumour about it, please email Matteo matteocas@hotmail.com

these are some photos of the bike took by me and some friends at a rais in Tuscany, just a couple of weeks before

(the report of the raid here by the way )

What a shame.
What idiot would steal such a particular bike? Do you think it will be parted out?
I'll keep an eye out on this side of the Adriatic.

The owner think it was a very casual steal as he was far from his Tuscany home and close to the Genova port, so maybe went to Africa? Who knows...

You can order a KTM RR through your dealer. Production starts late August and they manufacture 10 per week. If you want the older model they are or should be still available for immediate delivery.

Not heard anything on the CRF

Because he's on the binders right before passing the camara. Listen to the revs and watch the forks.
