I sat on Ergo seat (didn't have a chance to ride a bike) and on first impresion I will pass it. Firm? It's rock hard and not much wider than stock. All day comfort my ass. (I was testing 990 Adventure and its no comparison on comfort).
I can be wrong, so I will really want to hear first hand...
Cheers, Franc

I was able to test the bike and the seat a few minutes yesterday, at least...

Yes, the seat is firm, or if you prefer "rock hard", but the thin gel layer does its job.

Honestely I wasn't so upset with the stock seat, but, for me, the ergo is an improvement, with its rounded shape.

It can't be compared with one of those custom American seats, as it is more a conventional off road seat than a comfort "cruiser-style" one.
And, of course, it cannot be compared with the 9X0 Adv seat.

The bike is tinier than the LC8s, and more off road oriented. In my humble opinion the PP ergo seat is a good compromise between off road driveability and comfort; the only drawback is the price, pretty steep, indeed.

Thanks Maurizio!
If I can get price down, I'll think about buying it (the one I sat on was paid 150€)

Nice price... I've paid it 195€, and the list price around Europe is about 199€, depending on different VATs.

I was suprised to, but he said that seller offered discount by himself (maybe as a part of a bigger sale).

Short test drive

I was able to drive the bike last Saturday, just a few kilometers on road around home...

A brief summary of engine mods: Rally Replica air filter, Akra slip on and map, shorter final ratio (14/46); map set on 2.

The bike has completely changed its behaviour: 3rd gear, gas, the front wheel point to the sky... 3rd to 4th gear shift, front wheel up again... It has never done like that before. It surely depends on the better airflow of the intake and the shorter final gear ratio. I can't wait to find the time to have some off road.

The engine has much more grunt at low rpms and seems to haven't lost anything at top.

The intake is pretty noisy, indeed, but maybe it also depends on where the intake is. If the filter was in a more "standard" position (under the seat) it could be less noticeable.

I think that it will be a little easier on gas with map 3: with setting on 2 the bike is really, really bad

The ergo seat is, er, hard as a brick but much more confy than the stock one: as I said it is an effect of the rounded shape and the efficency of the thin gel foam.

The longer travel suspensions don't affect too much the road manners, besides a more noticeable diving of the front under braking. I hope the setup will be good off road.

More after a longer test on the dirt.

Geez, isn't buying an Ergo gel seat the triumph of hope over experience? Has there ever been a brilliant manufacturer branded Ergo gel seat......ever?

Renazco is about the same price, even a bit less in my case.....what's the point?
