Will be sorting thru pics and video from the DDS Gobbler over the next few days and will post when I get back in town. It was a great day, the weather was perfect, and seeing a part of the state I'd never seen before was a treat.

I'm off all Fridays through year end and want to ride as much possible.

1000

Hey CADS,

I posted in here a few months ago. I'm the noob who was signed up the the Baja 1000 in an effort to raise money for wounded vets. I was the guy who is new to Jax and was looking for a group to ride with. I spend a lot of time out of the country with work and a lot of you offered to help me train. Unfortunately I couldn't take any of you up on your offer. There just wasn't the time. But I wanted to say thank you again for your offers.

I also wanted to give you all an update...we finished 2nd in our class! 42 hours. Bike 201X. I still can't believe it! More importantly we raised just shy of $20,000 for our wounded vets.

I'm hoping to have more time in Jax soon and also hoping link up with some of you for a ride.

Scott

That's AWESOME!

Glad to hear that you guys did so well! In both ways, in placement and the money raised for the Wounded Warrior Project.

I'm looking forward to seeing you and hearing about your adventure in the Baja 1000.

Let us know when your in town.

Hay I cooked up in Jax at Sister Manfu's place in Ortega - older part of town right near the Grant Ave Bridge.

Outstanding sunset.

Big Ride in Ocala

Well you missed a great day in Ocala

Bill, lead another great ride into uncharted territory...at least for me I was the sweep on this ride

Yes, it was just Bill and me Our confirmed 5 before making the announcement became 2

So we have some pictures of what looks like Osceola, but it is infact Ocala National Forest.

I have been to Ocala a number of times and seem to only find the atv trails, but today it was a great ride on roads with very little sand. We even found what seemed like a single track of unused trail, that was very cool going back into areas that had no traffic. We end up at the river on several roads.

We found some very nice roads and only explored about half the area that Bill was planning to see. That will be for next time.

Doesn't this look primo?

Had the place to ourselfs

Till next time from the "Sweep"

I sure hope you guys find trails like this for the GS ride at the BMWNEF winter rally............the Big Fat Pig doesn't really like all that loose sand Bill seems to find!!! Should be there this year, with Knobbies instead of Tourances this time!!!!! Should make it a little easier!!!

Actually, eliminating all sand would make the ride boring for most. The first 8 or 10 years of the GS ride I worked at not including sand (not entirely successfully though), but the last few have thrown in a few sections to make it more interesting, and generally find most perps are up for the challenge. If you ride in Florida you're gonna have to learn to deal with it, sooner or later.

Rich and I hit some sand yesterday but no shots because I haven't learned to do it one-handed yet.

We did have fun, sorry you guys missed it (there was a wide array of good excuses). Plus someone said it rained in Jax all day. Maybe next time.
