That's funny; my wife tells me it's more like 8" here.

Oh, wait, you're talking about the snow. Nevermind.

Kate is only 5'1"......

Why do you think GSbiker's wife is so short

Is that supposed to be near Kearny? I don't get out there much (ever), but I didn't know there were wind gens?

Here is a general map of the wind farms in Nebraska.

North Central area judging by the sandhills look. I can tell you it's NOT the South East locations. Might be the Kimball location. (400 miles from where most of us are) But then again, I am assuming this is in Nebraska. The landscape could be Kansas, Colorado, Wyoming, North or South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Montana, most of Central Canada......

GSbiker might recognize the tower.

6 to 7mi South of Ainsworth would be my bet.... Looks like there is a big tower on the highway, and a set of wind gens right next to it. I can't seem to match the pic to the surroundings though...buildings and trees don't look like it....

Broken Bow area looks promising too....5mi N.E.

flyrodder should get some kind of consolation prize

You can even see the 7 turbines in the pic (blade of 7th off to the left).

Hey guys - update on my band "Thrift Shop Radio" -
For you Lincoln guys/gals - we are competing in the first round of the Nebraska Blues Challenge competition (sponsored by the Blues Society of Omaha) on Sunday, Mar 24th, 3:30 pm at The Zoo Bar in Lincoln. There are 4 bands performing, we are second. Schedule:
3:30 Crimson Dawn
4:40 Thrift Shop Radio
5:50 Lou DeLuca & the R&M Blues Band
7 p.m. Josh Hoyer & The Shadowboxers

There is a $5 cover for this - the bands don't get paid but the money supports the Blues Challenge expenses (venues, prizes, etc). There are 14 bands entered. The 2nd and 3rd rounds are on Apr 7 and Apr 21 in Omaha, then the final will be on May 19. Winner will get an expenses-paid trip to Memphis in Jan 2014 to compete in the International Blues Challenge, plus a studio recording package and a promotional photo package.

Come check us out if you can!

Cool zoid, hope you can make it!
Watch out for deer...

(Sorry couldn't resist)

Also - I just heard that our gig at Clancy's in Omaha on Mar 8th has been canceled by the venue due to a band scheduling conflict. We are still scheduled there on Fri Apr 26 though.

Sweet! I will try to get out and pedal up and meet zoid at the zoo! I am pretty experienced at riding a bicycle after several beers

ALSO, the last band that day, Josh Hoyer, is playing Saturday night at Wilderness Ridge, in the bar. So maybe you and Mrs. TBird should come down for Meat Meet. Scope out the competition
Just let me know, and I'll gladly add two more to the reservations!
