I used to ring them at work and ask if I could get a permit to conduct an earthquake.

Would the local "State Emergency Service" depot be suitable?

Here's an example of the sort of work SES volunteers do.

...I was just at the Wake County Range last night after hours for a shooting class...not on the bike though. With the F8 down for a broken engine case I'm pretty much relegated to using the DR. I didn't mind throwing my gun cases on the F8 but DR isn't set up for it yet (key word yet). Project FrankenDR is about to take off.

I have an idea where to find this tag...

OK, this one is getting stale so here we are:

This is the local branch of the State Emergency Service, links in my earlier post.

I was headed down to Moorabbin Airport this morning too, to get some of these from the Aldi store on the airport boundary. Now airports always have interesting stuff and I thought I might find a biplane or an amphibian there.

Instead I found....

A Messerschmidt!

(Yes, those are sidecars in the background)

It's OK, I've got more sense than to make the tag a Messerschmidt, but it was just too cool not to photograph.

The new tag is one or more derelict aircraft.

Aircraft must be visibly incomplete or extensively damaged, rather than just dismantled for maintenance.

Incomplete aircraft in a museum yard are fine, as is wreckage at an old crash site (which might only be remains of engines, etc), but a complete "aircraft on a stick" or gateguard is not, at least for the moment; I might change this if we have trouble with this one.

Those shelters (can't quite bring myself to call something with open ends a hangar) look interesting, kind of like a giant (oooh here's an idea for a tag) Nissen hut.

How the bell really works:

And yes, it sounds every bit as tacky as it looks.

On the basis that the previous tag wasn't "with working bell", I'm assuming that was acceptable.

Less than a hundred yards down the road from yesterdays Messerschmidt I noticed this sign and made a mental note that it would also make a good tag:

We're looking for a place that sells, delivers, retails, gives away, has signs about, general theme of, mooses, ah, meese? But definitely not mice. Mice are boring. Heck, if they deliver moosens one at a time, making the grammar simpler, that is fine too.

And since not everyone lives somewhere where you don't have moose (singular or plural), an alternative which is acceptable in moose country (eg: outside Australia) is kangaroos. Look, realistically, if it's a koala or a platypus, that's pretty good too.

But no Aussies with kangaroos please. Maybe a giraffe?

Key requirement - an animal, something fun and locally exotic!

This would be a winner if anyone else is in Melbourne... But I'm pretty sure there's no one else here.
