Weird ride today. I hit 3 squirrels. How does that happen?

So I decided to make the new tag an obstacle course. This one is pretty open ended. Doesn't need to be like the fire truck driving course in the pic. Any kind of obstacle course will do.

Naw, the best along those lines would be either I-95 around Atlanta or the Baltimore Beltway.

Of course, neither of those holds a candle to Naples. Remember, the traffic lights are merely suggestions and are more useful for determining fault in a collision than actually controlling traffic flow.

Napoli NAPOLI N A P O L I !!!!!!!!!

I spent a happy year there riding an old undercover cop bike and schooling contrabandisti...

Was fascinated by the intersections; used to sit and watch traffic to figure out the "system".

There isn't one, but it plain works!

(Don't know about their usefulness in fault determination...)

Worth a trip.

Better adapt quickly though.

Thanks wb57 and Skyclad for the laughs and the memories.

Made my day.

I never had a chance to ride in Naples. My driving experience is a 15 passenger van running between the piers and the Naval Station. Bad thing about driving a vehicle that size is that it barely fits on some of the streets; nice thing is that you are bigger than damn near everything else around you and they try to stay out of your way.

The strongest memory I have of Naples was from my first visit, trying to cross the road at the castle. Two lanes one way, a curb, two lanes that vary in direction depending on time of day, a curb, then two lanes back the other way from the first two lanes. Add in scooters and a trolley on tracks, just for shits and grins. Felt like I was playing that classic video game Frogger, only in real life.

Yeah, I know what you're talking about.
I only took a taxi from the station to the airport - but I was in a real hurry and the driver made no prisoners. I didn't think I'd make it to the airport alive. I was scared to death.
Most important thing in Naples - as everywhere in Italy - is to blow your horn on every occasion. Just always blow it.

You all should try riding in Indonesia. Third biggest motorcycle market in the world When I was there I had a surf board rack on my bike and traveled ATGATT (all the way from my apartment to the beach around the corner in a sarong and flip flops)

LA, NYC, Naples, Paris, Mexico City...they don't hold a candle to the madness on the streets of Jakarta in my eyes. But then, I still have several major metros left to see.
