FIrst a little explanation; Australian posties ride postie bikes (and get chased by magpies in Spring):

The red box below and on the right in the bottom photo is a post box or mail box for outgoing mail. The mail is collected by a postie in a van at or soon after 6pm.

The green box on the left of my bike is a drop box. A postie in a van drops bags of mail for local delivery in the drop box for the postie on the postie bike to pick up part way through his round without having to go back to the mail distribution centre.

THIS IS NOT THE NEW TAG:
I had a great idea for the new tag, something which was once very common but which now might take a bit of work to find. But I couldn't find a single shop with a sign advertising photographic film developing services, not even a local photographic specialist. Lots of Chemists (Pharmacies) with "digital enlargements", etc, but no one developing film any more. The one hour photo machine is seemingly dead.

This is the new tag:
So, moving right along, I got a photo of Victoria's last level crossing with swing gates. Its also got New Jersey barriers because... well it's a long story which shows no sign of actually being settled any time soon.

In September 2007, a train went through the heritage listed gates which had not been closed in time. Even before the crash, the railways wanted to replace the gates with booms. Now the history buffs obviously want the historical gates restored. The rich folks living in the stub end of main road now cut off rather like how quiet the street is now and want it closed. The railways regard it as a nuisance and want it closed. The local council wants it open. Everyone has an opinion, even those whose opinion is "just decide what you are going to do and do it for heaven's sake!"!

So more than three years later its still blocked off and with a new state government having recently been elected with a promise to reopen the gates, the announcement last April that it was to stay closed seems premature...

Shortly after I took this photo at about 11pm, a train approached from the south (behind camera) and the gateman emerged from the small timber shed, nodded to me, and locked the still functioning pedestrian gate, lest I should try to kamikaze. That's right, they still employ someone from 5am to 1am 7 days a week to manually lock a pedestrian gate.

So, the new tag is...
A source of high drama in the local community which outsiders might think rather trivial; the thing that seems to reappear in the local papers every month or two forever...

This is pretty broad, but if you can find a level crossing with swing gates, even an uncontroversial one, that will do too. Naturally they don't need to actually open for traffic.

Is a picture of my bike in the town council chambers during a meeting acceptable? They are the only thing "high drama" in my town...
Will you send bail money?

Argh...
Now I went out for ride in the cold as well and found a nice mailbox...
And then I get bruced by a few minutes...
Weel, that's life. I will show you a Swiss mailbox anyway:

The system is similar to that described by eepeqez. We just don't have those drop boxes here. The post is delivered either by cars (4x4) or by post scooters (quite similar to the postie bikes, but less cool).

Maybe I will be luckier next time...
Anyway I had a good ride!

Im going to be creative here.

There is no greater source of drama in a small new england town then putting on a annual Fair. In Sterling MA they have been doing the "sterling Fair" for many, many years. And having several family members on the board, and my daughter sang the National Anthem at the opening ceremonies last year, I know about the drama that goes along with this type of thing first hand. Little info about Sterling here

So now with my tag, Sterling has a small airport that closes for a week each year and is the official host of the fair. Thats my tag, the sterling airport

If the Sterling Fair is accepted than I would like you to go out and find a

a building that was once a church, but now something different. Bonus points if its a theater, and double points if your bike was used as a prop like my little DR was

Are you sure the fair is the real reason they close the airport?

This just struck me as such a great grab. First, being from New Hampshire I totally get the drama around the town fair. OMG (to coin a popular texting acronym) growing up we spent every summer involved in that thing. And every summer the community would hate each other until it was over. Then they'd come together in another "job well done" moment only to repeat the drama the next year. My last year, the year I left home, I had reached the "pinnacle" of my local fair career becoming a server of the steamed lobster at the lobster hut sponsored by the local state senator. Good times.

Yep. I does understand.

But it doesn't seem like the airport in your pick is very open right now. Causes speculation??? Just giving you a ribbing. Good tag.

Airport is open, If you find the North American wild card tag you will see I killed two birds with one stone! They even offered me a ride a plane if I wanted too. Seems flying in winter is faster??

Im afraid of planes...

And yes, they close the airport for the fair, The runway is used half for parking and the other half for the animal pens. Its been about 5 years they have been holding the fair here. It use to be at the local school, but there was too much drama with the local school board

tag on boys and girls!

Damn. I know the owner of the airport I took the pictures at and he didn't offer me a plane ride.

Wicked Grab Gobble Gobble Hey!

If you look real hard you can see that it says "Wild Wing" - the Togo to your Cafe - Parking lot was absolutely packed and this was as close to the sign as I could get.

New Tag

So since the last tag was a wing I had intended to keep the theme going and grab Fins Restaurant. However, when I arrived at the corner to take the shot I noticed that Fins is now named Bu Ku so that didn't workout so well.

Instead we're going to switch gears a little. The new tag is a cobblestone street.
