A few pics, sorry no action shots.... I was to busy keeping up with the singles. Thanks for the tour Uber. Fast pace, fun trails, good people, great food, perfect weather
Heading out Friday after a Canuck obligatory Tim's meet. Testing the new tent from Nomad Tents. Always cool to see over 80 dual sport bikes in one place On route to the good stuff Flanny dicking around with his bike Lot's of these fun roads between offroad sections, fast and fun. A few brakes to meet the folks your riding with during trail stops. All in all another fun event. Kudo's to those who organized and hosted the event. Great to see some familiar faces again and meet a few new ones. Certainly some characters in the crowd. Took a few tip overs, one on a hill climb up some loose rocks (I blame it on the klr's in front of me ). Foot peg bent and smashed into my rear brake.Always fun starting a bike on a hill with no back brake, even more fun when your hot sweaty, eye's filled with dust, no water and Flanny smiling from the top of the hill with a video camera on ya A great ride home on some fun twisty roads. See everyone next year

Gratitude
What a great weekend! Thanks to everyone involved in the planning and preparation. Had an awesome ride with Peter and the rest of the group. Lunch stop was super. Dinner was fabulous. I had two steaks! My bike ran flawlessly (Honda XR650L)(Had rear flat in morning before I left). Good thing I came in my truck. Met some great people. Sorry for leaving without saying goodbye. I had a long trip home. Can't wait for the next ride. Can someone please PM me Uber's email? He's got some mods I'd like to ask him about. Take care.
Mike

Thanks for the thanks!
Great pictures everybody!
Thank you for all of the gestures of thanks and positive feedback! It’s a tried and true fact of life that when you use quality ingredients you get a quality final product! In this case, the second annual event we stayed with that formula of quality riding, accommodation, food, and the lakeside setting ……and judging by all of the positive feedback we’ve once again found success! Once again as a group, all of us received much praise from the resort. Not one complaint from the others staying at the resort was raised! Well done! It’s a fun event to organize and I’d like to keep this thing going and growing for many years to come! Thus I would welcome any critical feedback that any of you may have. Keeping in mind that the main goals of the EOAR are about the great riding, food and camaraderie is there anything that we could do to make the event even better? Lets not clutter up this thread with these ideas and stick to PM’s please… Oh and before my mailbox gets plugged up…..we’re already adopting the plan for smaller groups on each ride route! I’d say a maximum of 10 per ….. That is sure to alleviate the problem of losing some of the sheep along the way!

Thanks from me as well. The ride was awesome (until I broke down). I know a great deal of time goes into planning these kinds of events and I appreciate the efforts.
Fantastic venue for the home base as well. Special thanks to Peter for letting me ride on the back of his bike to get me out of the bush.

Chipping in to say Great Weekend!
Had a wonderful weekend - even though I brought the wrong bike! I spent years looking for people to go off road riding but everyone I met with a BMW GS wasn't taking them off pavement. So I bought a smaller bike, a KTM, with hopes.... Last weekend I met so many people on enduro/dual sport/adventure bikes that I now know there are others, and plenty of them! I had an excellent time socializing over a fabulous dinner. The waterfront cabins were top rate. But two days of dirt riding made me smile the most! Thanks to the organizers for such an amazing weekend.
Cheers, Nancy |
