Reason for selling: Got a different seat.

Condition: Fair to good; no rips on cover, perfectly functional, some paint flaking on pan, no chrome grab rail, hinges original (missing one screw; i will include two new hinge screws, one hinge screw hole is striped , but does not effect functionality)

'stash-box' in front; hinge and latch work perfectly.

I'm thinkin' $100 +s/h to the lower us.

Slight thread high jack:

Question for bmweuro ?

you mention that the rear shock absorber is 1" shorter than OEM. Can you tell me a bit about how well it mounted and any effects on ride or handling ?
do you remember how much it cost ?
Thank you.

I have a brand new pair of 40mm diaphragms from Moss if anyone needs a pair. They're heavy duty.

TWO 1983 CR 480's for sale

How some things change...

Last year I was determined to get into VMX. The old school VMX guys here on ADV really help me out. With their help, I was able to figure out which bike I wanted. Problem is, my seven year old son has discovered Trials riding and there will be no time for VMXing. So, it is time to sell my VMX project. I can't begin to tell you how much time and effort went into finding the right CR 480's. The two CR's that I'm selling, were bought with the purpose of doing this project. I looked a long time for the right two bikes. Although, you can combine these two bike to make one and sell off all the extra parts. Or, you can restore both bikes...it's up to you.

I'm in the process of writing up a ad for selling the two bikes. I thought I would put out this feeler, to see if any of you guys are intrested.

Below is a link to the build thread that I started.

http://advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=659435

Here is bike #1

Bike #2

There are some nice misc. parts that go with the bikes. Also the bikes have some rare cool parts on them(see build thread). One has a title, one doesn't.

PM me if your intrested. I'll update this post with a link to the Flea Market ad.

Price: I figuring that out now (and will update this post with price). It will be very reasonable.

I find myself in need of at least one but I could use a pair of screw plugs on the bottom of the fork sliders of my '75 R90/6. I would like undamaged but a coating of surface rust is OK.

Part #

31421231506

I am solvent this month and can pay someone for these and to ship them. Please advise if you have a couple.

WTB: BMW monolever frame

Looking for a '85-'95 airhead monolever frame or rolling chassis with title.

I have a good engine and transmission ('86 R80) so I would also be interested in a project bike that has a straight undamaged frame and forks but has engine and/or transmission problems.

What are BMW airhead engines worth

I have several airhead engines that I can sell. And I'd like to get an idea of what they're worth.

To start there is a 90/6 w/o transmission.

Shipping is not really an option due to lack of crate building etc.

I paid $1200 for an engine out of a '95 Mystic that had 32K miles on it - it was in great condition. The original deal was for a $1000 but to speed the process of shipping, I paid the inmate the higher figure to get the diode board, and complete alternator setup and engine harness. He was planning on taking some additional time stripping the additional bits off the engine before shipping it to me. Now I have spares of everything.

If you are not going to ship these items your market is limited. If you have to sell stuff you will have to take what the local market will pay. Buyers know the market is smaller and they won't offer as much.

I have bought several engine blocks on the net and those were all shipped in cardboard boxes. An entire engine is a bit heavier. Sometimes shippers merely strap or bolt heavy items to pallets for shipment. You may want to find a shipping service. Find out what that would cost.

Do you have any personal experience with these engines? Or they are just there, you can't say if they run, how many miles they have, any special equipment. Just plain used engines with no history are not worth much, I think.

Wanted: Right and Left Side Battery Covers 1976 R90

Prefer Black but will take any color. Part needs to be complete, ie, no broken tabs that preclude mounting etc.,

Please PM if you have a set, or even if you only have one side.

Thanks

Depends on the engine condition.

Good news is you are in Wa. where the EIN is not on the Title. (Or at least it didn't used to be) so it's easier to sell (And replace) engines.

Also Seattle is a kind of freaky hot bed of airhead riders.

A good low mileage engine that looks good is going to go for around $800-1500 depending on model and what's hanging off of it.

I've seen nasty looking blocks get picked up for a few hundred

Crating an engine like that wouldn't be that hard if you are at all handy with some simple hand tools.
