I'm not a fan of the toggle switch and do like infinite adjustment, but honestly, a 4 position control would be fine for me too. I did however have some previous experience with installing a Heat-Troller knob in the left switch housing, so bought some Symtec grip heaters and wired them to a Heat-Troller. What I like about this set up is that I can adjust the heat w/o taking my hand off the bars. Easy thumb reach. And I can see the LED at night, so I can tell where it's at, level wise, not that it's a big deal. Pic of control knob - ![]() Instructions for the FJR, basically the same except the knob needs to be in a different spot due to the space available inside the housing. LINK Instructions for installing the grip heaters HERE |

Don't let them fool you. There is a reason the Rainbow is the symbol for the Gay/Lesbian community. Henry Ford used to say you can have it any color you want, as long as it's black. Waste of time to offer colors on something of utility. After all, how many black GSs do you see at Starbucks? It's not a coincidence...

Yep!
Now that you mention it... Yeah! Rode mine a few hundred miles last weekend. Have it apart in the garage right now fiddling with some farkles... And just to *TRY* and force one of the so-called "hard starting problems" I've been turning my ignition key switch on and off a whole bunch, starting it and only letting it run for a few seconds, sometimes only a minute, etc., etc., etc. Haven't had it anywhere near a battery charger, either... Damn thing keeps starting up immediately, over and over and over. ![]() Normally I wouldn't abuse a bike this way, but hey, it's all in the interest of science, right? But since it just keeps starting and starting this is gettin' embarrassing... ![]() ![]() Dallara ~

I used a blue mini fuse for that.....but my bike is blue so it doubled the output...true story
as far as heated grips go...just like I installed on several previous bikes....I went with the Symtec kit....grips can off easy with a compressor,,,,a few eastern beaver plugs and male/female connectors.....and viola, connected up to the stock wiring harness nice and clean and ran a GPS / SAE 2 prong connection too. I used this simple Hi Lo round rocker and put it here...it worked for thousands of miles on my strom (and 2 other stroms )

Didn't you announce your shared jealously and love, last night? And then you said something about liking licking, this morning. Come clean, Pluric; Did you paint your bike blue? .
