im picking one up. 40000 miles in 11 months. reliable as hell, no issues. but for the $379 the warranty will cost i will have piece of mind for the next 4 years. this bike is so sweet im gonna keep it for a while. 1 real issue and the $379 pays for itself.

Owning a SuperTenere is so boring.. no drama... no reason to try to keep up with the latest issues... I never have to put the bike on the center stand and check for rear wheel wobble like I used to with my previous 12GS.
Check out the fun that you can have: http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=862533 $850 to fix the FD at 40K miles... and he's happy it didn't cost more

Or, if I want to keep my S10, I can always subscribe to pluric's reality TV series to escape the boredom (when I'm not riding that is).

It's just piece of mind as Sallydog said I suppose. No one has had the bike for 5 years yet, so it may very well pay off for very little money.

Tenere owners would deal with them if they ever had to. Based on true events, just not Yamaha related. Episodes will include, Clutch failure 1,500 miles from home. My water pump ain't pumping. Help! FI, it's not for every bike. Final drive is on it's final ride. My subframe is looking for a good welder. The chain is being a pain. How much oil pressure is too much? I'd like to change my own oil, but I only have 6 hours. ABS, Always Broke System. There may be a few Tenere episodes..... OMG! My bike cranked more than twice before starting. Will I get slapped for snugging up some nipples? Today I found my wheels not round. I hit a bump and lost my sump. When I get some cash, I'll do the reflash. Meeting with some cable execs this week. I don't think I will be able to do anything with the black Teneres do to even cable not being ready for such a controversial subject. Sorry DaFoole. |

It's a new model and has only been out since '10, if not here in the US that long. I got mine throw into the purchase deal during negotiation. |

I've only bought the Y.E.S. thing once, for my '06 FJR. Complete waste of money, the damn thing NEVER broke.
