Yep, the RideOnADV piece is akin to tank armor.

No doubt. If my Altrider ends up like the OEM it will be my next try.

Of course you are referring to the KLR weighing less than the Tenere.

Right?

What they really needed was a real world tester, like me, to show how well it face plants
in the giant ashtrays.

Yeah, and this really happened to the White House.

It's all movie magic.

Normally I would think you were predicting rain but somehow I think not this time. My mind boggles.

Damn, and I thought that is what Salt Lake and Utah was famous for.

Anyway, back on topic. Bikes almost finished. Pics and mods to follow later

The lake silly. A good soaking will do you good by then.

Wallace is ready....

Wallace is finally ready for shipping to the USA next month.

Here are some pictures taken with an unnamed object.

Wolfman panniers strapped to the front roll cage, Metal Mule panniers and rack, MRA screen and a modified head rest from a smashed up British Postal service van, now reincarnated into Karen's back rest. (I had to put something there, she got used to the 52 liter Givi box and pad.) Also the hand guards are extended with re-modded go-kart number plates.

Touratech 3 liter fuel can and bottle rack, large Wolfman kit bag and a Yamaha tank bag. Seats are covered with Airhawk bum savers and a dead animals previous coat.

Power Commander and O2 Optimiser, covered in plastic because I am paranoid.

I do not like the way the headlight come on automatically. I prefer approaching a dodgy Police check point unannounced so I installed a push switch (under tank rim) to turn then off when I felt like it. Also here is my Slime pump attachment.

Underseat crap includes Autocom, extra fuse box for heated clothing, Sat Nav and Auto com. Also here is the USB leads from my Power Commander and Oplimiser for adjusting on the move.

It bugged me that there was no where to secure my helmets, both for the flight and when wandering around US cities. So, I placed a steel cable in a plastic tube, looped the ends and added a mini carabina. Now I can secure them

The cockpit has a Zumo 660, a Waspworks screen adjuster (Thanks Greg ), a remounted grip heater, a Power Commander Map switch (the green one), a switch to cut the Autocom microphones (left handlebar), a switch to cut the Autocom off completely (right handlebar) and Rox anti vibration risers.

Because I have already bent the gear lever out, I stuck a tether on the brake lever and....

...the gear lever.

On top of this I have put stainless spokes on ( a long time ago), I have cable tied the spokes together. I have an SW-Motech bash plate and have fitted K60s tyres at both ends.

Oh and guess what........ I am waiting for a stronger rear shock absorber

Shoot fast. It's sinking in the dirt as I type. Maybe the Rover wasn't so bad after all.

You also missed a great packing spot on top of the side bags. You're not done yet.

Oh, does this bring back TERRIBLE memories of my GS12. I'm convinced the real German engineers ended up in Siberia after WW2. My Tenere has WAAY too much hi tekkie stuff on it to suit me but unlike my GS,the Yamaha works.

Nah, you gotta leave some room for Karen's shopping. My wife likes to antique, here's my Tiger in Oregon, we live in Canada.

I just order a full Gerbing's outfit... and reading your post, I just want to confirm if we can simply connect the Gerbing's cable to the battery.
