It was around 100 or so for the whole rally. Easily one of the best vacations I have ever taken...

And I was one of those running K60 Scouts, did Cinnamon and Ophir passes, along with Last Dollar, CR-26 and Valley of the Gods and Moki Dugway in Utah.

Ok, ok...

but they all look ok for me...I run so slow in tarmac than probably all these tyres are good... I never had road tyres in my bikes, only knobs so no idea of wich are the best. I had the Mitas E09 an E10 worked fine in dirt and dry tarmac....

I went up the Moki Dugway on an Ultra Classic pulling a Uni-go trailer, that was exciting.

I did it on Pirelli Scorpion Rally's in mid May. It was epic.

I can't say I'd recommend that tire though for mixed use. I pretty much destroyed a set in 2700 miles. If I pushed them less the entire time I might have gotten 3500.

LOL

No sympathy from the Yanks!

We all envy your bike. And your off-road exploits. So feeling your tire choice dilemma just doesn't register. :)

Dave...
I believe EricV from the Super Tenere forum, Dirty bike on ADV is on one of them.

The two up Tenere is a couple from Australia.

I have about 1300 miles on a E07 set. For me they handle very well. On or off road, dry and wet. Very limited time in the mud to comment on their performance.

I am on my way back to Texas from Alabama and 30 miles into the ride the engine coughed once and the check engine light came on. It seemed to work just fine after that so I continued riding. About 20 miles later, while sitting at a stop light the engine started surging, then died. Every time I turn it on it runs for 30 sec to a min then starts surging and dies. I have tried running it with the fuel cap open to see if it was a clogged vent line but tha doesn't make much of a difference. Any ideas, suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks

A friend that has a S10 had it quit on him while riding across Arkansas on the interstate. He had it towed to the nearest Yamaha dealer and it turned out to be a clogged fuel filter, which, as I understand it, is at the fuel pump. He had over 30k miles on it and had ridden it to Alaska, so thinks he may have gotten some crap gas while on that trip. I wonder if yours may have a similar problem.
