Thanks for posting the vid up Trevor.

Had lots of good information in there!

like....

There are no Dutch words for

Compact, Sneak Preview, Block, Tubeless, Unified Brake system, Chip controlled throttle, Traction Control and MAP.

The bike seems to be a bit cranky when cold and the throttle being blipped constantly.

That seems just like a few other bikes so far. Be interesting to see how it goes on the road at 3K-4K.

Cheers
Graham

Way Nice!!!

OK, Is this Deja'vue? It reminds me of the first time I saw the FJR and drooled over the thought of owning one, only available in Japan and Europe??? Now here is another Drool worthy machine with a Tuning Fork on it which won't be available here until we let Yamaha know that we really want it!!! Then the whole pre-order crap again, ($500.00 down and wait for 5 or 6 months before your bike shows up at the dealer) I don't know if I have the patience to wait again? I may have to contact my brother-inlaw in Germany and see if he can get one shipped to me somehow! Come on Yamaha please pull your head out!!!

Not feasible. You can't get it past customs without showing compliace with US safety and emissions standards (prohibitively expensive to do for a single vehicle) and if you solve that issue you can't register or title it. And if you solve that, you've got no warranty, dealer or parts support.

That word is not in my vocabulary, (can't) I wonder how my friend got his 99 Yamaha YZF-R7 0W02 registered and titled? And it said for offroad use only on the MSO. I'm sure that it won't pass emission standards with the stage2 race kit, (to activate the second set of injectors) installed! But it does have a plate on it. I've seen or heard of only three of them in the US which have been licenced. I don't think that word was in their vocabularies either! Where there is a will.... I think you know the rest?

Ok Dumb question? Even with pictures of people on the bike, having a hard time judging its size. Would it be more 1200gs like or 800gs like? I hope for the latter. Since it weighs as much or more as the 1200gs, is it hiding its weight well? For some reason I really like this bike. But fear will never see it in the states.

things were alot different back then, then plus states (but not all) are/were alowing off-road dirtbikes to be tagged.

you're talking about 2010/2011 and a bike with euro vin #s.
not gonna happen, but please try.

Okay, I'll amend my response to "feasible at reasonable cost and trouble". If you want to knock yourself out spending big dolllars to bring one in with shady paperwork, go for it.

It would be more like the 1200 but like the 1200 it looked very manageable even for me at 5'7''. Of course, I wouldn't be doing hardcore offroading on it, just occasional fireroad stuff.

I'd be tempted to get the hammer lane feeling, from this angle, or move over bavaria....

For those who'd like to replace their brakepads somewhere out 'n somebody's neck of the woods, with calipers like these no need to bring lots of tools..
