no doubt, Yamaha has redefined adventure offroad, at last we see that weight is not carried on your back, but lays firmly on the ground, mass centralization, CoG lowering, efficient suspension, honest power, and yourself can go play into the dunes with this hefty machine.

I yearn to do that, this is definitely my next machine.
Great video. That guy sure knows how to ride the big XT.

Appears to be quite a machine by all reports. Now if they could just get it down to a retiree's budget.

You mean the Super Tenere will be worth more in six years than everyone paid for it today.

If the Super Tenere is only produced a year or two... Sure, it's possible.

Look at what cherry RC30's go for today. Or truly mint CX650T's.

But then again, it could be like Yamaha TX750's. You literally can't give away one of those!

But remaining relevant, there is absolutely *NO* guarantee Yamaha will offer the Super Tenere in North America for more than even one year... despite your original point of "by selling the bike in the US they are committed to 7 years of parts, service etc. so I don't think they will be dropping it anytime soon, especially with all the pre-orders waiting to be filled."

It could be a huge seller, like the original Honda CB750 Four or Kawasaki Z-1, and become a classic... Or it could be a bust, like the Suzuki Rotary, and still become a classic. Then again, it could be a bust and be forgotten faster than a Honda CJ360T or CB500T, or be only a one or two year super-hit, and be a classic like the Honda RC30, '86 Suzuki GSXR-750 Limited Edition, or '89 Yamaha OW-01...

And now for something completely different.
The motorcycle version of the movie Twins will be released some time later this year. Plot summary: Many years ago an experiment was conducted to produce a perfect human being. Unfortunately there was a problem. The zygote split unevenly leaving two children - one with strength, brains, personality, and love and the other one with what else was left! Both children were raised seperately at different locations until one day the two unite and help one another find their long lost mother, a known harlot who shared her bed with many professional motorcycle racers.
Dani Pedrosabot will play Vincent(Danny DeVito)
Francesco Catanese will play Julius (Arnold Schwarzenegger)

Sorry if this is obvious, but how do you get to Yamaha's Facebook page?

TIA,

I've clicked on everything and the only topic I get is,
What's your favorite Yamaha?
What am I doing wrong?

I don't use Facebook, either, nor am I registered... But I can read all the posts on Yamaha's Facebook page regarding the Super Tenere.

Super Tenere delivery schedule has not been delayed. Early customer orders will begin arriving at dealerships in early June. However, while some Super Tenere’s will be delivered in June, orders will continue to be delivered through August, depending on when the order was received. Orders received now through the end of March will be delivered in August. We hope this helps clarify the situation. We appreciate your business and your informing us of your concerns.

OBVIOUSLY it HAS. http://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/pr...1/0/specs.aspx still states $13,900 (Impact Blue) Priority Delivery Program - Delivery begins May 2011
$13,900 (Raven) Priority Delivery Program - Delivery begins May... 2011.

If "Delivery begins May 2011" means "to the distribution center" not "to the dealership", then Yamaha's advertising should reflect just that.See More

Greg Froober How can you honestly say it has not been delayed when the first orders are coming in June and Yamaha originally said "deliveries begin in May?" That is a delay.

#
Gary Miller It's all good....Yamaha can make up for the delay by shipping a 660 Tenere along with the ST10. I will gladly wait for that..... :>)

Roy Holmes I was told July just yesterday and my order was Sept. 8th. July is a long way from May on my calendar.
