123 on the GPS is the highest I've ever seen, too... Had the bags on and the Parabellum, but nothing else, running the stock OEM Metzlers. Had a slight tailwind and it still took forever to get there.

That said, mine has sat on 115 (again on the GPS) for miles at a time, no problem, and it gets there relatively quick. As an aside, the bike's speedo is indicating 123-124 when doing that speed.

Oh, and mine will clock a faster top speed in 5th than it will in 6th.

Yea!

No kidding. The Uly will be toast. Not in the same league at all.

I don't know about you, but I have owned more than 20 bikes and have never felt like I got so much for my money. My Y2K Blackbird comes very close, but bang for the buck on the S10 for 12K is off the charts.

Don't ride it if you aren't able to switch. Not kidding. There is no reason to resent a bike as good as the Uly...

Thanks GB.

You finally found a bike you like, that is great. The Tenere sounds good, now I need to get rid of my GS. Maybe the Yamaha dealer will take it in on consignment or perhaps as a trade in.

Lots of Kool Aid wannabe drinkers out there, you might try selling it privately in your area first, why give the dealer any money without trying to sell it first. The funny thing for me is the S10 was on my radar screen as soon as it came out, but Yamaha Canada priced it at about $4500 more than I could buy it in the US. And I waited for a test ride, and waited and waited, almost 2 years later, I ended up buying one in the US without test riding it. Had I known I'd like it this much, I would have bought it sooner. I find the engine has a lot of "character", it's like a hybrid between a parallel twin and a V-twin, and gobs of torque. Long long long valve train inspection interval (42,000 km / 26,000 miles), double sided swingarm and proven final drive design, very similar to the one used on the FJR for years), and no montly software updates, so I'm not married to the dealer for service, plus comfortable ergos, I find the suspension to be excellent, but I'm pretty light... I like the styling, and best of all NO me too BEAK!!!

That is crazy, why would Yamaha do that?
Well, I am glade you got your bike at a decent price.

I think the S-10 is going to be my next bike but I need to wait until March.
I keep trying to forget this. There is a possibility I could lose my license because of medical issues. Hope not but its possible.

GB, I think Yamaha should have given you this bike just for being an ambassador for the Super Tenere. Hay everyone, The GB of ADV rides a Super Tenere! Not a BMW, not a Explorer, Not a Crosstour, Not a KTM, Come on Yamaha you missed a great opportunity here.

My new, local Yam dealer has a white one just in. His 1st Super 10.
He called me "gotta get $13,900 + $100 doc fee + tax.
He did not motivate me

No kidding.

Cant blame him for trying to make a big profit, but he would have to do so with someone else. I like the white, possibly even better than my blue, but not for $1000 more.
