It does look good (and everyone says it handles off road amazingly well), but one of the advantages to the S10 over the T800XC, F800GS, and 990ADV in my book was the more standard front tire size (for more tire variety), and lack of tubes.
Come on Mike!, now with this Rumbux un your bike you need a 21 front wheel to go to the end of the world!

Im 1,78m. With this setup the standard seat was a bit too high, so I took it to a upholstery to reduce the high. Tomorrow Im going to collect it and see.

Concerning to the skid plate issue, hope tomorrow the manufacturer find a solution to it.

Maybe a solution for the 21" tyre

Hi all. After reading all your comments i decide to write to you to tell you my thoughts. By the way my current ride is a Yamaha XT660Z Tenere. Now i want to buy the XT1200Z after reading for how good this bike its. But here in Cyprus they don't know that bike (XT660Z) they are no so many maybe 10 or 20 bikes. And i'm trying to sell it but its very difficult.
Anw back to the subject, i made a little research for if we can manage to have a clearance for the 21" wheel. For the last 2 nights i was looking the designs of the bash plates. All of the they have extra lenght because of the oil filter. If i remember correct someone recommended oil filter relocation kit. But the only relocation kit that exist in the market for bikes it's for an internal oil filter no the usual external one.
Now in my research i discover some kits that maybe they can help you all that make that 21" wheel mod.
1. This one is used for the snowmobile and fits for the same thread that the S10 use and you can find it here. The engine its also Yamaha:
http://www.ulmerracing.com/
http://www.ulmerracing.com/Complete.pdf

2. The second one again it fit to the same thread as the S10 but on the other end you must attach a normal oil filter that used in cars:
http://shop.perma-cool.com/10616-Oil...?categoryId=-1
http://shop.perma-cool.com/media/300009%20rev13.pdf

So with this method i believe you can rearrange the position of the oil filter and you can modified the bash plate to come closer to the engine and have more clearance for the wheel. And also you don't need to remove your bash plate every time you want to replace your oil filter.
Now i don't know if this practical but i hope it can help you.
Sorry for my bad English and i hope sooner or later to find the proper money to buy and be part of this group.

I realize this is the last thing in this picture I should be interested in given the sheer aswesomeness of the rest of that bike, but what windscreen is that?

Here you are some pics from the new metallic brake lines.
My dealer decides to commercialize a hole setup to replace the OEM plastic lines, so he ordered some with the link on top of the front fender and others who are one in each side. I have these last ones. They worked very well.

I'm surprised such a light and fragile bike managed to bend it's rim. I think melted margarine is what you a looking at.

I have to bite my tounge or I'm a hypocrite. I was surprised. If we had been hauling ass that's one thing.
I was determined to finish a ride without needing Woody's afterward. I had my son who had not ridden
in a long time, a KTM who uses 1/4 of the throttle and a BMW on it's maiden off road ride.
No records were being set. It was bent in three spots. One was the obvious leaker.

If it had been the rear wheel I would have blamed it on the extra HP.

I think we can solve the 21" clearance problem with the bash plate with oil filter relocation...
For almost 2 nights i was searching and finding specs for the oil filter that S10 uses.
If we relocate the oil filter we can get more space for the 21" wheel if we modified the bash plate off course as close to the engine.
If you need any info i will gladly to share with you..

YES!! Im very interested; this is my new project to the S10.
The skid plate manufacturer is making some modifications to fit the plate with the 21 wheel but this dammed oil filter is a problem.
My idea was to relocate it so I will appreciate any information

I had a V Star 1100. Had to remove the pipe to change the filter.
The chrome would be a nice addition too.

The kit for the V-Star is not suitable for S10 because it's for internal oil filter not the same type as the S10 uses (external).
After reading pluric post i find out that from rhino site that that it will be ok with the same type of filter that S10 uses.
http://ultimaterhinos.com/yarh660stkit.html

Now from my search i find also another 2 kits like the rhino
1. This kit is for relocating Yamaha snowmobile oil filter. Again it accept the same type as S10 does:
http://www.ulmerracing.com/
http://www.ulmerracing.com/Complete.pdf

2. This kit again its suitable for the S10 thread but on the other side you must use a normal oil filter like the cars uses:
http://shop.perma-cool.com/10616-Oil...?categoryId=-1
http://shop.perma-cool.com/media/300009%20rev13.pdf

The great irony it's that i down own a S10 but an XT660Z Tenere. I'm trying to sell it to buy an used S10 but they don't know the bike that i have. Maybe in all Cyprus will be 15 pieces. So i was very exited to read your forum to be ready with all the tricks and mods that you have done to your bikes.
Btw when i will buy the S10 i will be ok with 19" front wheel??? Do i need to change the front wheel to 21"??? Because i have been driving the XT660Z Tenere that has the 21".
Also if i had money (no offence Woody great wheels) i would like to uses the Kineo wheels:

Sorry for my bad english

I thought you would like it.

It also hold stickers very well. Can never have enough stickers ya know.

Your project bike is turning out very well. It's become a head to head battle with Wasp
on who can complete the Yamaha to KTM conversion first. Wish I could give you a lead
on a shit fuel pump, bad water pump or crappy clutch to help out.

No you don't 'need' to. I'm sure it's an inprovement for heavy off road use, Most owners are
fine with how the stock set up works. Just a few who can't leave what Mother Yamaha made alone.

As far as your english, around here we call it "jaumev speak". You're fine and we single language
guys are always amazed how well you multi lingual members do.

Thank Pluric. Here in Cyprus you must have pass any kind of English exams (GSE or TOEFEL) to say that i can speak English. The English that i know i have learn them mostly from TV and PC gaming.

Now for the oil filter relocation kit i think it a good mod because you can save time from removing the bash plate to have access to the oil filter. Does it need to be positioned again in horizontal or it doesn't matter if you install it in vertical position???

Can you feel a big difference?
