New Tag!

Alternative energy, anyone?

Clues in photo should be more than enough. Plenty of nice riding in the area.
Still no mascot at the location, I just didn't find anything with the appropriate gravitas. Anybody have any suggestions? Replace the snail? Other mollusks?

Remember back in '81 taking my 4th graders to visit that place for a field trip and they took us up to the generating plant roof to see the spillway. Some kids wanted to hang over the rail for a better look. Me, i couldn't get within 5 ft of it!

New Mascot

Here is the new mascot who is related to the Maryland crab, but not a direct desendent. He will be hitting the road soon.

Cool idea for a game. I made the grab today while doing the MD tag, but I won't be able to drop within the 48 hour window, so I'm going to hold the photo for a day or 2 before posting. Hopefully I won't get bruce'd.

Sorry the Snail got swiped! But I like the Hermit crab!
I'm glad to see it finally taking off though.
I just started a new local game for North Western Virginia. My mascot is lame in comparison.

http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=568965

So if you all find yourself down in the western part of Virginia playing this game, just out for a cruise or maybe just lost and just have to grab a tag.....

A slow start for a snail!

Hey CapoGreg
Way-to-go with 2 tags!
BTW the hermit crab has been taking it easy in my studio because of an avalanche of needy clients which I have had to deal with lately. Just maybe I will have the weekends free soon to play this game, and get Mr. Hermit in the mix.

Have fun.

Slithering

Yes Jax
Legs move a bit faster than slithering along it seems. I just hope these legs take-off like the MD Tag has.

Hey, where'd everybody go?

It seems legs are not too much faster than the slime trail.
Do I have to grab my own tag and move it somewhere easier to reach??

If it weren't for my extreme distaste for riding east of Fred-neck, I would make the grab man. Then put it back west...

Do you still have your K75S man? I am currently getting my 87 K75C back on the road.

I'd go after it if I could ever get more than a 1/2 day off.

Heavy sigh...

It's no fault of yours, but the old girl is a sore subject. I owned her for over 13
years and almost 40,000mi and she was a dream. My first bike, and never one
mechanical problem. Never let me down in numerous hair-raising situations,
commuting, touring, and, ahem, "stupiding".

When I got the R-Sport, I just didn't like her laying around gathering dust so I
sold her to a friend who was getting back on the road after 25 years of raising
kid's and knuckling under to the wife's wishes.

Less than 6 months later he got t-boned at 4-way stop less than a mile from his
home. He lost his left leg just above the knee and is just getting used to his
prosthetic. I'm glad he's OK, but on the other hand, I miss her.

That is just horrible man. Sorry to bring up sad memories, both for your friend and for your bike. My K75 was my bike back to riding and it will always have a place in my garage. I was going to sell it after I got the KTM, but my wife told me that she loves riding pillion on the BMW more than the big 990. So it is getting a much needed overhaul and refresh. It will be our 2 up machine.

Funny coincidence...

It's funny that your wife feels that way. The 75 is the ONLY bike my
(motorcycle averse) wife has ever agreed to ride with me. I had a sweet
corbin with a little backrest that gave her the secure feeling she needs.

Needless to say, she's absolutely terrified of being perched on the precipice
of a back seat on the R-Sport. Hell, I'M terrified half the time I'm riding it!
But for me that's part of the fun

I've been toying with the idea of picking up a used F800GS to try and drag
the wifey back into the saddle.

And no worries about the sad memories, it helps me remember to ride
safely.
