It is not BBQ, but have y'all tried Zur Autobahn south of Meridian about 6 miles on Hwy. 77. Authentic German food made by Germans. Nice place to ride to. Only open week-ends for lunch. Dinner weekends only. Owner was in the auto. industry in Germany. Connie speaks English, husband speaks it barely. No Alcohol but you can bring it.

I have tried to eat there but they are always closed when I go there. Been there several times on weekend when they should have been opened, wound up at the Horny Toad

The Story.....

Do ya have that much time????......well ok....

Not really that long a story. We didn't leave till 11am Sat & I wound us around for a bit till we got to Johnnie's in Salado about 12:30.Ate some pretty dang tasty Q wiches & Rings then headed SW on FM2843. Hit several CRs east of Florence & headed SW on FM970 to 183 where we crossed on yet another series of CRs on the way to Bertram

(By the way...Rds o Tx shows Williamson CR202 goin cross the San Gabriel....NOT EVEN for years now...CLOSED) Anyway....At Bertram we took FM243 toward Oatmeal & turned N on CR330 towards Burnet. Outside of Burnet turned S on CR335? (Paul's Garage sign) climbed the hills & crossed the ranches to CR340 then back N to Burnet (railroad trestles pic)

Leavin Burnet,we took CR108 N off of 281 toward Naruna on FM1478 where we crossed on to CR104 then right on CR106 (the ranch house pic & me on the road) to FM1494/FM580 & Lampasas.

Left Lampasas on CR3420 off of FM580E & rode thru the hills & ranch land to FM2527/FM1690 Izoro (old Texaco pic) then back in to Gatesville turning R on Slater Rd/FM1783 to FM116N.

By this time it was after 5pm so we droned in for home on 84 (but not without a couple of small detours for another 15 min....!!!!)

I took RZrich's tire down to the shop about 9:30 so he could get it mounted for his Arlington trip. Was gonna just do a short ride round that side of Waco then head home.Joe called while I was there &....well....there goes the day.Sometimes things just happen at the last minute.
I was under the impression that you were tryin to get your truck to run right....& ya had mentioned gettin the cables put on the GS. so......

Yea I am up for a Zur Autobahn ride/eat. What about this Sat?, weather permitting?? BMW bikes love German food, it is what they are born into.. Though mine has developed a fancy for Great BBQ. That is what happens when they cross the pond for a new life.
