UHF radio by Oricom.

Oricom UHF2100 radio sets are on special for $80 for a pair (2 watt) with charger and batteries. VOX and PTT capable. Anyone had any experience with these sets? They're not waterproof but then again I live in Perth so it's not a big issue, more dust than rain.

While I'm asking, any recommendations for a PTT kit that is the go for this set up. I plan to keep the radio in my jacket but a PTT switch on the bars seems like the go and is easily disconnected if attached with velcro.

yeh mate, I have got pair of motorola's with motorola ptt with headset and hand mic/speaker,
I think the handsfree kit was around $200 for 2 headsets & 2 mics. etc.

the batteries dont last too long about an hour of constant use.. but not bad for calling other riders , bike to bike or bike to support 4wd. etc.

"WARNING"
DONT use them if you have got it in your "pocket" !!!
put them in your back pack if you are going to be useing them while wearing them !!!

read the instructions -

cheers matty

PS. oh yeh !!! they're good.
