I've never used one but there are many bands that do.

I wanted to try some effects and on bewbtube I saw a cool iPhone thingymajig where you plug into the phone and can model all kinds of amps and stuff.

So I tried my own...

I couldn't figure it out so I called my son who is pretty good with new-fangled electronics.

He said I'm a dumb ass and needed an adapter... hmmm can I get one at RadioShack?

Here is a photo of my blues rig. The best part is the amp. According to the serial number it is a 1969 Fender Princeton Reverb. I have retubed it with Sovtek tubes. Nice sound!

I have an amp like that, not sure of the age, but I've had it since the early 70's and it was used then. Previous owner put a 12" JBL in it and used it for a PA for his magic act.

I have the original Celestion (sp) speaker. This link my help you date your amp.

PS I see you are from Texas. Did you catch the brews on the amp?

Yes I did. Thanks for the link
Looks like mine is a 69, but it's a black face. The Magician had his name stenciled on the grill & I painted over it, but
I'm pretty sure it was a black face originally. The tube chart is kind of chewed up so no letters are available.

Got this in the mail the other day...

It's a 2005 '68 reissue LP Custom. Solid back with no weight relief, and I'm loving every ounce!

Yesterday was NGD for me too!

My other strat is an American Deluxe HSS, with locking tuners and the bridge humbucker, which is great, but it lacked at bit of the classic strat quacky sound and vintage look. I've been lusting after a sonic blue strat vintage style strat, but the only thing they offer is either what they call an American Vintage '59, but it has tiny vintage frets that I just can't get used to, or a relic'd Custom Shop, which is pretty much what I want, but I'm not ready to commit to $3,500 until I'm sure I'm in love with it. I found their 60s Player Strat, which was designed by their Custom Shop, using CS '69 p/u's, and has all the vintage cues, and available in Sonic Blue. My rep at Sweetwater matched a GC coupon and it showed up yesterday. Sweetwater is great to deal with, and they always send you their studio shots of your actual instrument after you order it; pretty cool!

The neck is a 12" radius you can bend strings forever on it, and it makes all the classic strat tones. The mint green pickguard and aged knobs really set it off nicely, and the build quality is really fantastic for what isn't a very expensive guitar. The rosewood on the neck has some really cool lighter shades that run up near the neck that really give it some personality.

These Sweetwater pics are much better than any I could take.

The bottles are empty and are used for decorative purposes only.
