I bought another Squier Stratocaster ($105) and I think I like it better than my Fender Stratocaster. ($500)

I don't know why I think I need three Stratocasters, but here I am with three.

I found out my younger sister had a guitar as a hand-me-down from my other sister. It was so bad that I declared it a health hazard and destroyed it and got her another guitar. Any passerby may have picked up that old guitar and tried to play it, with sad consequences.

Most guys seem to want 4 or 5 Strats. Some collect them like baseball cards!

If you've got the cash, go for it! One in each color!

Not a guitar, but the latest acquisition that I've been playing around with. Mahogany and walnut...............yeah, it makes a difference on the tone.

It's fun messing with some old mountain tunes. Now all I need to do is lose a few teeth and marry a cousin and I'll have it down.

Who said anything about plywood? What did you expect it to sound like? Let's stick with comparing SOLID wood with SOLID wood.
Maybe the general public can't hear the diff in a blind test, but I've played that game before, and sold a lot of guitars from it.
Alder has a much diff resonance at 300Hz than say basswood which is pretty hot at 2.5-3K, and not so much in the lower mids.

If you put a handful of diff strats in the hands of someone with the right ears, they'll feel the vibration diff from maple, and hear a different snap in the high frequency. (through a clean amp, not the stack of doom)

It is a science just like building any other instrument. All the small things make the final product what it is.

Good shop. I haven't had a chance to get over there for a long time. Plus, it's dangerous for me to walk in there. (dangerous for my bank account, anyway).

What about Korina? Ever heard of a 1958 Flying V? I'd love to have some of that garbage!

Thanks man...I'm really enjoying it. Played 3 gigs with it over the past 3 weeks (along with a Strat) and am starting to get used to it. I can't say enough about what a great guitar Ron builds and his attention to detail and to building what you want is first rate. Highly recommend him!

I know where there is an original for sale.

Expensive because rare. Not expensive due to the limba wood.
