My Dad sent me some pics of a few things he picked up today.
Anybody know anything about any of these. We do know the Fender on the right is a 1957 MusicMaster. The other stuff, we don't know much about. ![]() ![]() ![]()

The middle git is a Harmony H929 aka a "Stella" Usually a wall hanger but could make an OK slide guitar.
http://harmony.demont.net/model.php?id=239 The Supro amp is a real find, made by Valco. It's a 1624T which was top of the line. The guys here can help you out on it. http://www.valcoamp.com/ The 2012 Vintage Guitar guide puts the value of the Musicmaster at $1350-$1550. Having that original case will help it reach top dollar. Do not clean it, modify it or change a thing if you want to get top dollar. DW

What's a good half size or mini accoustic?
![]() I tried out a Taylor GS Mini at my local Guitar Center and it sounded great and it's so convenient when you're sitting in front of the T.V. or whatever to have a small guitar.

Great sound from them. The GS Mini and the Martin X models both have great sound at that price point, but the GS is the 7/8 scale.

I also really like the Recording King 00 guitars. Not really mini guitars, but rather small body full size that to me sound better than any of the mini's and yet have a small size that's just barely bigger than the mini's. http://www.recordingking.com/product...uitars-rp1-626 IMHO, Recording King and Loar guitars are one of the best kept secrets in affordable, quality acoustics.

Thanks, guys.
I've narrowed it down to the GS Mini (which is actually smaller than 3/4 it's closer to half iirc) and the little Martin LXK2. The list price is close on both although the GS seems to be much more heavily discounted (perhaps there's a good reason for that ). I just sold my bass so I won't be out of pocket by much if I go with the more expensive Martin. Cheers.

Anybody own or played around with an Orange OR50 ??
I've played a good bit through a Rockerverb 50 head with 2 - 4x12 cabs but it's a good bit more $$$$ than the OR50 I'm currently playing a Marshall 50watt Vintage Modern also through a full stack, which I really like, just love the variety of the orange, much like the other side of a coin, having your cake and...........etc Thanks for any input

I'm a big fan of the mahogany. I see them all day for about $499. I played one again yesterday and I might pull the plug and get one today. I have a really nice 412 now but the thought of traveling with it scares me. Another big plus for the GS mini is the nice soft case that comes with it.

I used to run a fender 10 x 2 and it was more than enough for a room that can hold about 300 peeps. Just mike it to the p.a. if you need more. My practice amp used to be one of those tiny Peavey's - you could still piss the neighbors off with it

Been tweaking my Blackstar HT-5. Went form a Sovitek 12AX7 to a Electro-Harmonex 12AY7 to drop the gain by 45% and get a cleaner tone. Seems to have sweetened up the over all tone. I have a NOS JAN Phillips 12AY7WC and a 5751 as well though I'm liking the 12AY7. The 12AT7 is supposed to be 60% gain and the 5751 is 70%. Since everyone likes pics.
![]() Been thinking about getting another amp though. Maybe a Fender Blues Junior III or a Marshall DSL40c. I don't need more wattage as the 5w HT-5 is already borderline too loud for my house. But the other two amps have Master Volumes which is a bit plus. Not to mention you can cut the power in the Marshall from 40w down to 20w as well. Another option is to get a used Silverface Fender Vibro-Champ on ebay...
