My Tele had the reversed switch like in the photo.

I did a little looking online and every other Tele I could find, old and new, had the switch plate the other way.

I turned mine around because I wanted the stock classic look the controls consistent with just about every other Tele on the planet.

The job wasn't hard, but it wasn't a 10 minute job either. I totally disassembled the guitar, routed out the switch plate cavity a little with a dremel to get everything to fit, and sealed all routed out wood areas with black paint. Then I had to switch places of the tone and volume knobs, turn the pickup selector switch around, and put everything back together.

I'm very happy with the results.

If I can find a cheap/free image hosting site I'll put up a picture of the Tele and a few simple amps I made with the LM386 chip.

Just chiming in with my guitar, quit different from the solid-body folks here :

Ibanez AF75 jazz guitar :

Not my guitar (picture is from the site), but mine is identical.

I am planning to change the bridge to a full rosewood or ebony bridge (rosewood makes more sense since the fingerboard is rosewood).
I am a long time jazz piano player with numerous gigs and one CD recording under my belt, but I always liked guitars and have always fiddled around with cheap acoustics. But this is such a step up! It has a lovely sound. First I ran flatwound 12"s on their, but I changed to 10" roundwounds. Sound is almost right, i just want to try 11"s to see what it gives.
Oh, and a pickup upgrade will come as well I suspect....just can't leave well enough alone I suppose.

Photobucket has worked for me for years now.

I got bored and turned the plate around on my tele for the hell of it .

There was plenty of room in the cavity, it fit just fine

Had some time this afternoon and was near guitar center-

This followed me home

Standard MIM Tele, ash, sunburst, new, 2009 model

Had a couple dings in the upper front edge, was on clearance (age plus the dings). Essentially new at a used price

Lovely sunburst

That is gorgeous! I debated over the butterscotch blonde or the sunburst. I love both. Very nice!

Hmm.. Compared to even an Epiphone Dot, I wasn't very impressed with the Artcore. Then again, I'm not a hollow-body kinda guy.

I've never liked the Artcore series, but it's largely a sound I just don't chase. A Dot, on the other hand, can't nail down jazz nearly as well but can go high-gain surprisingly well.

Well, a dot is a semi-hollow, the AF75 artcore is a hollow, so the comparison doesn't really work. I was most in doubt between the Ibanez AF75 and the Epiphone Emperor, but the build quality of the Ibanez is so high that I couldn't justify the extra cost for the epiphone.

I have never played a dot, but I guess their more for the R&R crowd? I strictly play jazz, so the AF75 is a gem for me. Truly build to a much higher standard than the price indicates.

Now if only I could play well enough to justify buying a Gibson L5... 12 000 for crying out loud!!!

Jazz........It was refreshing the other day at the shop to have a bunch of high school age kids come in and one of them requested to play one of our Loar archtops. I was dreading it until he started playing. Then we discovered that he was a German exchange student whose father is a professor of guitar. It was refreshing NOT to hear another bad rendition of Metallica, Green Day, or worse.

Pardon the commercial logo. Just a short vid I actually made for my stores FB page. Not meaning to spam at all.

Yeah.....sometimes it sucks when some kid who has been on the planet for half the number of years I've been playing guitar kicks my ass.

Kazoo. Yeah, that's it. I can take up kazoo.
