Two wrong turns in 500 miles. Not bad for this rider. Enjoyed a great day on the bike with Trice - who better to enjoy Mexico with?

Tranquilo

Don't know if Jeff (Bingo43) posted it yet, but he and his son Jaxton had the most beautiful riding day in the history of the earth today.

Taking his son to Mexico on motorcycles is the most epic Father's Day move I've ever heard of.

Father and Son, a lucky duo

We will leave Parras on Monday and ride to Durango to the Gobernador

JD wants to celebrate your birthday in Durango and then ride to DF and Veracruz to meet up with MikeMike

If you guys like hot water powered by a jet engine, this is the hotel for you. Rooms are huge and very "Mexico Patina", and like I said, the post ride shower could set a record for best in Mexico.

Full review on the whole Parras shebang later.
Glad you two amigos made it there. If you ain't got plans this evening, walk over to the Casa de Cultura. They might have some music playing. Introduce yourselves.

I hope you tried that special dessert in the restaurant. It's some type of flan/crepe thingy with nuts and a caramel sauce. Only place it's served I think.

Pure joy. The back country twisty road that JD found between Saltillo and here was a blast. I came in with about 30 miles range left on the tank.

Lots of good stuff in Mexico Lindo, and it's closer than we think.

You are the reason I'm here

Great job you did paving the way on your recon on Parras, Mike

Casual readers can research the various YouTube videos on Parras le la Fuente

And yes, Mike, how close this is to home - basically 1/3 of a day - is mind blowing.

La Casona del Banco is undergoing major, full scale renovations

It only has about 7 rooms on a good day

The El Farol is the game in town. You only need reservations on a Saturday night.

We got our rooms because I "cancelled" two incoming wedding customer rooms at the front desk by looking at the register while the manager was occupied elsewhere.

Just kidding

Good news! Dinner has been moved up to Tuesday. I'm at a good old Mexican country wedding today. Hopefully it will be over by then!

Tom - yes you do

And you are the King of Dirt, so you should pay attention to what transpires out of Durango next Friday morning - the day we dirt bike to the overnight at the half way point off-road between Durango and Mazatlan and then start out Saturday morning for the run to the Pacific Ocean beach.

El Farol is the only place I stay in Parras.

If you guys get out to La Cienega del Carmen let us know what has become of the old ruins (Mapeche's hideout). I have not been out there since the renovations to the chapel and the main house. I don't know if it has become a hotel now or just a private residence. Maybe the front desk at El Farol knows, but many people in Parras itself don't know of the ruins or that The Wild Bunch was filmed there.

Yep, but what the hey, we've all got something wrong with us.
I mean, look at Trice, he passed up on the hot tub, we all would have joined in, no?
