Speaking of being safe in Mexico, Vinny do their mommas know their girls are hanging out with the likes of you. It might get very unsafe very quickly once they find out.

Mexico is a mess

I drove to Tlaxcala Mexico in March 2009 was Stopped by the Police 4 times and extorted for money. They wanted American Dollars and specifically requested payment in dollars. On one occasion while circling NE Mexico city I was Stopped by the police order to turn over my papers ordered off the road to a side street. I was taken to an auto junk yard and extorted for money. The police turned me over to the thugs at the side walk . I'm certain that the thugs where also Police as police are more closely trimmed. After some heated discussion I payed and they Let me go only to be stopped once more for the 4th Time that Day at the city Boundary of Tlaxcala. The tourist sticker is an extortion magnet.

Well, start by keeping the TVIP in your tank bag with the permit, that will eliminate issue #1

Your other problem began when you started arguing...

Start looking like this when pulled over, and don't say a word:

It's all in your style, man

^^^^^^^^

My parents got ripped by the dirty rotten DF cops, too! One time they were with friends and the motorcycle cops pulled the car over and told them that on Tuesday afternoons, all cars with license plates that begin with the letters A thru M get a ticket. Seriously. It cost them $50 to get away from those rotten bastards.

I like what Striking Viking does (I think it was him anyway). Start reciting the preamble to the declaration as fast as humanly possible and do it in question-form so that they think you're asking a million questions. Stubborn assholes get confused and look for another, easier mark.

That is what 99% of the people in Mexico are like.

After that experience I've always taken soccer balls and stuff for kids to Mexico
Good on you. I've learned to take stuff to give to kids also. Watching the smiles on the kids faces has been one of the most enjoyable rememberances of my trips south of the border.

I think that is why it should be mandatory for Americans to spend time in other countries out of the touristy areas so they can see that people are people the world over. It's their governments that are all screwed up.

Ask them to make you an Irish Car Bomb. 1/2 pint Guiness, drop in a big
shot of Irish single malt whiskey with Bailey's. Drink it like a Harvey Wall-
banger - all at once. Tastes almost like chocolate milk.

Yep. I'd stay there again. We ended up moving our bikes that night so they
were under the building overhang and out of the rain. Paid $35US for a
double. Clean & comfortable. Except Tyler said he could hear someone
snoring all night.

We found Reynosa's Central Plaza to be fairly nice with several hotels, the
Mission Bar and Cafe Paris. You can get a traditional Mexican breakfast at
Cafe Paris. Will last you 'til mid-afternoon. The "kiosko" looks to be an Eiffel design.
