I'm hoping to arrive in Mexico from Guatemala tomorrow. I was wondering, if Mexico is a safe, do I need a key or combination to enter?

No, no pics. I got in trouble once for taking pics at a Canadian border crossing. Since then I pretty much leave the cameras in the bag at borders.

Update on the 50% reduction in tolls.
It seems the original 180 days was a misnomer of sorts. The present status is its approval by the legislature (with its previous senate approval) sends it now to the executive branch where it will be for a max of 45 days. Once approved it enters into the Diario and has a period of 180 days max to be implemented. It could move fast or slow taking the two periods to the max. Less than 225 days.
It passed the house with only one abstention and the rest in favor. That bodes well for the executive signing. They mention a minor senate modification which I don't have the details for.

Both the US and Mexico are sensitive about photo taking at the crossings. Needless to say I have been questioned and warned by both sides at various times.

I think the girl at Piedras Negras may have a sister at the Banjercito in Hildago/Reynosa. I crossed through there a couple of weeks ago and was really tempted to just stay. A real looker ! Maybe Banjercito has a new hiring model in place.

Dunno. I think its almost impossible to surpass the beauty of the one at the Colombia bridge

May have to find a creative way to nonchalantly take pics in government buildings.

Careful consideration of Mexican bill #362436 is now being proposed in the senate.
Mexican prospective bill #362436 is aka "the gringo pervert law".

Two words: helmet cam.

On a similar note, i did some hard time (1 day) in a Zambian prison for taking pics of their supreme court. So definitely be careful lol.
