Thanks, feliz Dia Del Padre a Usted! I don't think I am too sabio or anciano but I will have a tragito! Gracias!

A semi truck full of speakers just pulled up in front of my neighbors house and they are unloading it. Looks like we we are going to have a Fathers Day Fiesta here starting soon!

I wish I were once again on your rooftop with you, your family, and our moto traveling friends, sharing a vista of the Durango hills, a drink, and our fortunes to be together in Mexico.

So shall it be soon again....

Ester of Palenque, 2012

Here is Ester, this year:

If you visit Palenque, you can find Ester most days on the path behind The Palace, near the Temple of the Inscriptions, starting at about 10 am or so. She is there often with her aunt and her cousin, selling artesanias.

She is a very gentle soul, a good friend, and if you speak some spanish she will tell you about working at Palenque, about the villages surrounding the site, about her family, and most poignantly, about her hopes, her dreams, and her vision not only for herself, but for her people.

Thanks, stop by any time. Mi casa es su casa. After surviving the worst drought in 60 years we just had out first Monsoon rain two days ago and it looks like it is about pour again. Everyone here is very relived. There was no bean crop last year and things were tough out in the campo. The good news, we had about 350 days if dry whether for riding last year. They say this year should be much wetter. Ojala!

Go and say Hello to Ester....

Finding Ester at Palenque:

Should not be that difficult.

And remember, try not to "haggle" too much on the prices of their artesanias. The small profit they make goes to fund so many needs. What Ester makes she shares with her extended family and her village.

Not only physically beautiful, but I must say she is one of the most heartfelt beautiful people I've ever met.

It is a true joy to return to Chiapas and Palenque, park the bike, and wander in. For the time being, she will be there, working to support her family.

She does not have the time to focus on the news we often talk about in this thread.

She needs to feed herself, and her extended family. And she finds the funds to pay for her education. She is advancing. She will be getting her degree. She helps her church, her village, and her immediate and extended family with whatever money she has.

And, get ready for it, she is probably the happiest person I've met. Truly filled with joy.

I invite our intrepid ADV viajeros to stop by Palenque and go and find Ester.

She will change your day. Let's put it that way.

Ok Dennis, because you're a bro...

I promise that anyone who rides their moto to Palenque and takes the time to visit with Ester will find a heart as large as Mexico itself.

You may certainly hand her a gift to her for her church. I know for a fact she shares everything she has and because she does, she overflows with goodness and peace.

Go to Palenque and meet her for yourself. You will understand.
