Tap a Talk

Is anyone using Tap a Talk on an iPhone 3S? Are you happy with it?

Gordon from BC arrived at Hotel Los Arcos on a spanking new Triumph 1200 Adventure. Mexico is not safe. Not safe from bike envy.

Thanks Bob! Installed the bulb tonight at WeazyBuddha's.
Now equipped for México travel.

A great evening enjoying the hospitality and fellowship of WeazyBuddha. Tomorrow we enter the Danger Zone.

Don't ask about that last pic. I got nothing.

Durango to San Blas

I rode SR's route from Durango to San Blas today. If it is possible to have a road with too many curves buit in alocation that probably should not have a road .This is it. Highly recommended

Sounds like there is still a small stretch of dirt on the route. Last time I was on it was last summer with Schizzman and Jimmex and it looked like they were going to pave it all, but apparently not. Some dirt makes it feel more like an adventure. Got any pics?
I do have pics . I'll try and post them in the next day or so. The unpaved section is interesting. At one point it is a narrow one lane affair that kinda goes through somebodies farm. There seem to be several different roads and trails . Nothing is signed out here. There are two guys sitting on a bench outside a building. I ask the first guy if this the road to Tepic. He gives me a vacant look and points to his ears. He's deaf

The other guy after a moments silence and I'm sure a silent chuckle sends me in the right direction, between two farm buildings and up a short steep well used hill and I'm on my way.

Finding barrel gas in Jesus Maria was also entertaining. I asked a drunk Indian if there was a PEMEX station nearby. It didn't take me long to figure this guy has probably never seen a PEMEX. The nearest one is at least 80 miles away.

A shed in the center of town has about 50 two gallon containers of gas, no stinkin fire marshall here. Two gallons of gas go in my depleted fuel tank and 100 peso note goes into the outstretched hand the gas guy.

Only 100 more curves to San Blas where I arrive an hour after sunset. I'm bagged.

Moto down in Guatemala - Need Advise

Hi!

My normally very reliable 1996 R1100GS has had a few issues on this 6 weeks of a three month tour. First it was the Halls Sensor and now, I believe the fuel pump has went bad. You can hear it come on when the key is turned on, but it acts like it is not getting fuel. One problem that has been found during the past few days is that the screen before the fuel pump has come apart and the red lining that BMW put inside the tank is flacking off and stopping up the screen from the inside. Is there alternative fuel pumps for this moto. I am in San Juan Ostuncalco, Guatemala. Thanks!

Donnie
