Really looking forward to picking up my first victory, a 2007 Vegas Premium. 12k on the clock and it'll need an oil change and a new set of tires. Digging the nuclear sunset orange......if only saturday would get here faster!

VICTORY GUNNER
A 106ci full-size urban cruiser that outclasses the competition by handling itself as well on the highway
as it does downtown.

Bobber Style.

I was just thinking to myself Victory needs something to compete with the Sporster/Bolt.

If they do it right, they could sell a lot of them. BUT, it has to out handle and out scoot the rest. I think 106ci will do the job power wise, so now it's all about the handling. Will they try to make it look cool, or have the ability to carve well for a cruiser.

Very difficult to follow corporate marketing intentions.
Be that Victory or Harley.
They work off Focus groups etc.
Then they talk to the bean counters and designers.
One never knows which group has more weight.

Sometimes a company acquires a CEO who thinks outside the box.
Not very often though.
It seems GM has such a CEO at the present time.

I would have thought the Judge would have been a decent handler? Before they moved the controls forward and brought the bars back it "kind of" resembled a Dyna which is an ok riding bike.I don't get the whole sportster comparo..What are you looking for here? The Gunner is supposed to be a bobber that handles?I know it's me,I'm missing something that everyone else is seeing

You're not missing anything.
All things Victory are compulsively compared to HD.
Why?
Beats me.
Victory can stand on its own.

We're all just speculating. That's all any of us can do at this point, unless you have friends in high places.

If you look at the more recently released hot bikes in the cruiser market, I think the small cc HD and the bolt stand out. So to me it makes sense that vic would maybe try to throw their hat in that ring with something similar, yet still unique. After all, they have enough models in the large cruiser segment(even too many maybe), but they don't have anything light and nimble. I think a bandit style bobber would be cool, especially with the 106. To me it sort of makes sense, but I could be way off, who the hell knows... we'll find out on the 8th.

I stopped by my Vic dealer this morning. The showroom was packed with used late model Harley's. I stopped counting at 75.

I asked the sales manager where they all came from. He said that about half were Victory or Can-Am trade ins, and the rest they bought from other dealers who needed to get rid of inventory.

He said that the dealership hired a certified HD tech, and plan to sell a lot of used HD bikes beginning this Spring. Some buyers can't afford a new Vic, others just want a good deal on a used Harley. And every time a HD comes in for service, the owner is offered a ride on a Victory demo bike.

Interestingly, this is the second Vic dealer I've visited that uses this strategy. Employ a certified HD mechanic, undercut the nearest HD dealer on service prices, and offer free demo rides.

Should be interesting to see how this turns out.

That is good thinking right there.
