Good airhead shops in New England?

I'm planning a cross continent trip on my new to me 90 R100GS PD this spring and I want to get it in top condition before I set off. The bike is already in pretty good shape, though I haven't personally seen it yet. It is in my dads care in CT and I want to have it gone through by a competent shop before I set off. Dad thinks it may be having charging issues and I'd like to get the circlip mod done on it sooner rather than later. The more I can have done in the lower 48 the less I will have to spend vs sending parts back and forth to Alaska where the bike is moving. So far I've looked into Max BMW in NH and Emerson Motorworks in Vt. Anyone have experience with either shop and can give a rough estimate of prices for a basic service and good going through, assuming nothing major needs doing?

I've yet to let anyone else touch my airhead so I don't speak from experience, but Max's has a good reputation, as do AJ's in Gill, Massachusetts and Duncan's Beemers in Maynard, Massachusetts.

Barrington Motor Works in Barrington, NH is the best around for airheads. Tough to get scheduled for work, but worth the effort.

They have their niche, and obviously the business to support it. If I could make a living shaking down wealthy /2 owners, I'd do it too .

Gengras BMW in East Hartford, CT will work on your PD, the service manager Don is a knowledgeable airhead mechanic and has never steered me wrong. Duncan's Beemers seems to be a reputable shop also, although I've never personally had my bike worked on by him.
