Question Rick's Hot Shot Cdi Ta '89-90

Has anybody use this CDI on their Transalp? It's supposed to alter the ignition curve and give it more power. Any feedback on this? It basically has the same price as the OEM.

I haven't heard about this product-links? I was going to replace one of my cdi's this spring anyway. I'd definitely buy two for improved performance.

I'm curious about these as well and have been thinging about picking up a couple. MAW has them for $80 and I've seen them on Ebay for as low as $60 before.

From his ad:
" Designed to enhance overall performance when installing a high-flow jet kit "

The jet kit alone ought to do that?

The jet kit can only alter fuel. Maybe the stock timing is very conservative due to exceptionally lean fuel mixture dictated by the EPA? When you richen it up,,, maybe it can take alot more timing alot faster. Without the richer fuel mixture that faster curve and more toatl time might be too much causing detonation. When the extra fuel and extra timing are used together maybe you get more power than either alone, maybe,,, possibly,,,,,, just might work out thata way.

Likely you will see little usable performance gain from either of the modifications and fuel mileage will tank

Fuel mileage might be a wash. The larger jets use more fuel but more timing/faster timing sometimes helps if the stock timing was dialed back due to detonation problems from a lean fuel curve???????
