Thumb Recommend the WR 250 F for similar trip ?

great story and pictures!! After reading the story and pictures, I want to make a sort of similar trip here in south america. I also also have a WR 250 F, which I generally use for short enduros and mixed dual sport / enduro trips, of no more than 200 km, one day.
What sort of mods would you recommend in terms of transmission and suspension in order to do your tipe of trip? I would like to concentrate more in scenary than in fast riding, so I`d like to make the WR a little more confy and set up for long open segments, trying to keep 60 mph.
Thanks again for the story! http://d26ya5yqg8yyvs.cloudfront.net/yelrotflmao.gif

Really the WR was stock. Just added a 25lt tank and changed the rear sprocket to a 44t. That really was it.

thanks a lot treepawpaw! I did just that, a 44 T rear sprocket and maybe with a 14 T on the front. Its amzing how different it behaves. I can keep 60 to 70 mph for long distances, and with the bike speedometer I reached 80 for a short periord.
Now I just need to get the correct suspension set up for adventure and exploring trails. For enduro, back to the other transmission and current suspension set up.

I actually don't have the WR anymore. I sold it and got a ktm525. That is really ultimate bike for what I do. Because of the 6 speed trans I can do tight trails as well as 110kph all day with no gearing change. It is really a fantastic bike.

Thats a great bike! I`ve been considering one of those, or maybe a drz 400, but I also have been participating in some enduro races arround here, so I try to stay in the 250 class.
I might be getting a used suzuki DR 650 as a complement, and will also work for every day use.
Do you use the 525 for tight trials and longer weekend rides only? Or you use it during weekdays in traffic too?
