Class 6 road test run
Alright so here is a test run of me documenting the Class 6 roads in my area. I'm going to add a link to my Trimble for this trip. This was a decent ride (with one turn back), but should be started in Woodsville to Bath. You would start by going through the curvy narrows. If it is done that way it would be an awesome switch back uphill, through some pretty deep mud holes (which I easily drove around) down a steep loose muddy trail into a very pleasant stroll through the woods to the covered bridge and the Brick Store in Bath. You could take the rail trail either direction for many miles or continue into Landaff for some more Class 6 action. There is some decent potential for a twenty+ mile ride. If I can find a way to upload I will do some GoPro action with photos and other video.

As you say, the view is worth it. That is the one place from last year's trip we returned to and the one place the 250 Tornado struggles. In fact, at that elevation (~10,000ft) the Tornado becomes more of a just a light breeze. Some serious clutch action to get it in it's power band if you stop. There are plenty of stops. In it's defense, it did do it, though. Great little bikes for the kind of riding there. If you're there and doing high speed runs you've missed the point, IMO. ![]() Back to reality now. Looks like I may have some cards to download and sift through. Curious if any of the GoPro stuff came out.

Hello
Hello everyone.
I wanted to introduce myself. I grew up in northern VT, NH and was actually born in ME. My family will be heading up to the Brighton area in a couple weeks. I'm interested in the road conditions up there. Understand it may be a bit muddy. I was hoping to get some trail riding in. Quick question about the snow machine trails. Are they all open to bike riding? I've seen people riding quads on some of the trails, but haven't seen too many riding dirt bikes. Too wet? I'd love to find some good trails in that area. Any suggestions? Jon

The first few days, blasting through the water crossings is a bit of a novelty. A few days later, once you realize your feet are rotting off the ends of your legs because your boots won't dry out, you tend to change your strategy a bit.

Christmas in March
500 slab miles yesterday to bring home a new toy. Original owner bought a 2009 leftover in May 2010. Never offroad, never down. Now to get it dirty.
![]() He really rode the hell out it, no? ![]() A big tip 'o the hat to Nice_Rumble for finding this primo bike. Thanks, Skip!

Stupid stupid Rotary
The Broad St. Rotary
reached up and bit me. 3/4s of the way around and my shiny R1200GS is laying on my left leg sliding toward the curb and the left side case if flipping through the air. Side case mount broke off, cylinder head cover and spark plug cover all scraped up. Worst of all the side stand took a lot of the hit and the switch was busted open.Got it home sputtering but it won't run when you put it in gear. Replaced the switch. Still no joy. Sent it off to Second Wind for the 6000 mile service and to fix the interlock. I want my bike back.

Kule!! Looks kinda like mine, but yours is a lot nicer. I just picked mine up w/ 3k miles a couple months ago. If you and Skip are doing any local dirty training rides you'll have to ping me (I know Skip from his FJRForum days) |
