Here's an alternative. Looking at the town website I am pretty sure this bypasses the whole mess and then some. Hersey Lane is a 20MPH zone and well patrolled. Lots of little ones too. 108 to 152 is probably not effected by the race, so Hersey is optional.

The intent of going through Newmarket was to take Bay Road/Durham Point Road…which will be closed. It's a super fun twisty turny road that I did all the time back in my UNH days on a Yamaha XS400.

The alternative route that we'll take today will get us to Kittery and then along the coast to Ogunquit. Shore Road is still on the planned route and it, too, is a blast. Then tuck in-land using back roads to get to Shapleigh.

That's cool. Just thought I'd offer an alternative. Bennett road is short, but just as fun as Bay/Durham Point.

103 through Kittery and Shore road is a darn good call early in the season anyway.

Glad you came along, Huck. It's your birthday?!?! I wish I had known. I would have gotten you an ice cream at Ted's.

Looked like a fun ride, sorry I missed it! The good news is that I picked up my KLR wheel and tire and will be riding off the beaten path soon. I did get to ride the RT-P to pick up the wheel

Nice route. Nice pace. Thanks for letting me and my 900 lbs gorilla riding bud crash.

Them fried clamies hit the spot.

I netted about 160 miles total today. Not bad for the first joy ride of the season. Got home and did some yardwork.. then gravitated back towards the internal combustion toys and got the KLX's carb torn down and ready for its spa treatment.

Laugh Backfires...

The people close behind me heard my bike backfiring. Turns out it was the key switch. The switch was getting bounced around by the weight of the other keys on the ring. It was causing intermittent switch-off of the ignition. Whoopsie! All sorted now.

And…this was the test ride for my wife on the back of the R100GS. It isn't a great 2-up bike for a day ride. She much preferred the 1200GSA for passenger comfort. Got the thumbs up to go get one. What kind of husband would I be to ignore my wife's comfort? I'll keep the R100GS for solo rides. R1200GSA for rides with wifey.

Please don't tell me you are just now getting that replaced after that flat from when we were sweeping the BBR last year!
