Streetfighters should be pure power, part rat. Like all subgenres of motorcycles, they have "off the shelf wannabe representation", O.C.C. style over-the-top "theme bikes"... and the real deal.

And like all subgenres of bikes, it's easy to identify the real thing when you see it.

My 1982 XJ750 Seca

I bought this bike for $200 a couple of years ago. Mice had chewed through the wiring harness in a bunch of places, it had been crashed, and generally discarded.

Ah, the original - a stripped oil-cooled GSXR. Most agreeable.

Not 100% but they are kinda like Buell headlights (but certain details seem different though). Either way the Buell lights would be close.

The bike in the pic is not mine. It was just a good example of what I was thalking about. The lights look like the Aztec setup that a friend of mine has used. Good site. Good Parts and a relaible supplier.

Here's the link to their site. LOTS of cool stuff.

Nice GSXR. Always wanted to build some crazy Spondon framed, turboed streetfighter out of one of those.

Anyone know if AWOL is still published? I haven't seen one in a store in a long time, and my old link to their website is down.

Phew....I was beginning to think this was going to be the triplespeed thread. Not that there is anything wrong with them (I love the tune they play......very harmonic). I picked up my yzf for $1000, and toyed with the streetfighter theme, but decided I liked the wind protection on the cold days. That under exhaust on that zuki is sweet. I was looking at xt500's, and saw a supermoto one with the under exhaust. Very cool.

Cool looking, but it would handle like a truck with that extended swingarm!

There's a big diff between a Streetfighter and a Naked or Road bike so please let's see some real bad-ass Streetfighters and keep the others to another thread

Here's a good source for stuff and inspiration (Germany, though):

Lots of nice pics. I've always liked the looks of this one:

Maybe too polished and clean for a real streetfighter, but a good blend of modern and classic styles.
